*BLF LT1 Lantern Project) (updated Nov,17,2020)

Very easy to mod & swap LEDs.

After some restless nights of ‘deciding’ after finding this thread on Reddit, I finally made an account to post that I would be interested in TWO lanterns!

the best decision you ever made, for sure.

Is it already settled which LEDs are used in the production model? If I remember correctly the latest plan was to use Samsung LH351D Leds for 5000K and Luminus SST-20 for 3000K, is that still correct?

I’m interested in one. Put me on the list please.

Im in put me down for 1

@DBSAR:

can you give us details on the dimensions of the LED pcb? I want Clemence to make an aftermarket version of it for Nichia E21A LEDs (better tint and greater range of CCTs).

Interested in 2

I don’t have the measurements on hand, but i will try to get them soon.

Is the final emitter choice the LH351D 3000K and 5000K? Just wondering if it can be changed to the 2700K, which has less greenish tint than the 3000K?

I believe they were able to get the 3000K in the numbers they needed fro production, unsure about the 2700K. ( i can check to confirm)

UPDATE -the upgraded test sample has arrived! and i am running it though tests now and will do a video over the next 24 hours on it and my thoughts. So far what i can see its ready to go for production and meets me expectations! Will comment on it in the upcoming video. :+1:

Right on!

Great news! Time for everyone to get their orders in and if you haven’t already done so to check that your name is valid on one of the files linked post #1.

Excellent news, Den!

It’s great to hear that you’re pleased with the latest version so far.

Very much looking forward to your upcoming video! :+1:

Ok everyone, So far i spent the last 7 hours testing, probing, disassembling, comparing, measuring, banging around, and staring at the latest upgraded/revised test sample Barry of Sofirn sent. So far, this is by far the best, most versatile, usable, quality built rechargeable area lantern i have ever seen, built, modified and used. Its a winner! :+1: I will be giving this a green-light for production to begin, all the team has to do is we will finalize the production & specification info over the next couple days. The quality & refinement is much better than the any expensive box-store & consumer lantern i have used or seen. While it may be a bit heavier than the average plastic lantern found in most outdoor stores or online, it looks & feels much better quality and professional. If i were living off the grid or in an area where i depended on a good lantern light with great modes and options, for long-term use in power outages, emergencies, disasters, camping, wilderness cabins, RVs, or even has daily lantern at home, this is it finally. The upgrades & changes i sent to Barry & Sofirn did as requested are spot-on. everything is good in my eyes, and i am giving this final version a thumbs-up for go to production. all they have to do is add the LT1 logo, and create their package options. (as in basic lantern only, and add accessories for other options like adding charge cord, Sofirn high-capacity cells, etc.) I will be doing to the video tomorrow night in my RV trailer with no electricity, only using the LT1 test unit and the original V1 & V2 design prototypes.

Awesome, thanks for the hard work!
