Which movie did you watch lastֻ

Ah, that’s the one. Same here, got it but haven’t watched it yet.

Mother is a brilliant movie. 11/10

2 I recommend to watch:
Jennifer Lawrence in Winter’s Bone

And Billy Bob Thorton in Sling Blade

Mike

Night Hunter

Interesting crime thriller with quite a few known actors from multiple genres.

I loved Sling Blade.

"I like the way you talk."

Arctic.

Didn’t care that much for the ending, but the rest of the movie was great.

I saw What We Do in the Shadows (2014).

It's a horror comedy that reminds me of Shaun of the Dead, but that film is much better.

What We Do in the Shadows is more comedy than horror, though it is pretty gory.

I was hoping for it to at least try to be scary, but as a comedy, it's pretty decent.

As much as I like Lawrence’s performance, Dale Dickey is amazing in Winter’s Bone.

Have you seen the TV version yet?

No, I haven't, but I have heard that it is good.

Watch them.
Both are interesting.
With the Viggie Mortenson one being the most enjoyable
IE Bloody good.

A Mother Prime robot Even for a SF feak like me.
Is a little weird.
As am I.
I’ve just gone back watch to Start Treck Universe.
An OOOOOLD Start treck series.
You HAVE to be an SF freak to watch those.

The Art of Racing in the Rain

Pretty awesome movie, like “A Dog’s Journey”, but better IMO. Has a good dog, cars and Milo Ventimiglia in it.

gf insisted on “The Last Bridesmaid” (Hallmark, 2019)
“ok” movie, one of the better Hallmark movies. Still fluffy, but watchable.
the other we tested was “From Friend To Fiance” (2019), some acceptable acting. standard Hallmark plot.

“”The Dark Place”:https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7487314/”
A bit of a weird movie, average rating from me. About a young guy who can’t be employed due to a previous mistake. However, he makes more of them going forward.

My wife and I watched Eaten by Lions.

If you’re into quirky comedies, this is a good one.

Sling Blade had likable protagonists but the plot was way too primitive and therefore predictable. I couldn't share the high ratings sorry.

I watched A Dog's Journey together with my lil nephew. We both understood that the plot was shallow and oversimplified, something for total kids to enjoy. And dog lovers.

I am gonna check out The Secret Life Of Pets 2 later this week!

I saw Don't Look Now (1973).

This movie was slow as molasses, and very little happened in the whole film.

Boooring!

I didn't care for it.

Rewatched “The Peacemaker” since I last saw it probably the better part of a decade ago, long enough that it was almost watching it anew. Pretty good.

The family and I went to see Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.
If you’re of the age that you remember the books or the series it’s definitely worth seeing. My daughter loved it, there were teenagers and grownups screaming like they were on a rollercoaster. The movie was a little more adult than the Nickelodeon series, it had a smattering of bad language and mature content (bullying, racism, murder etc.) so I’d avoid bringing the little ones.

Good movie, not just a rehashed anthology.

Edit: stupid autocorrect :person_facepalming:

Sixtuplets , a comedy on Netflix about a guy who realizes he has 5 other siblings. Just when he was about to get married.

It had some funny elements, but not a movie to write home about. Below average, IMO.

I recently watched “spider man: into the spider verse”. I was skeptical going in as I’m super burned out on super hero films and I’m not huge on cartoons, but the show surprised me and I enjoyed it.

I know it’s not a movie, but do any of you guys watch the show forged in fire? I have been binging it lately.

It’s a really cool show that centers around craftsman making swords and blades. These blades then get tested in various ways and there is a bit of a competition as to who made the best blade.

While I’m not super interested in making a bunch of swords or knives, It has inspired me to start tinkering and forging myself. I built a variation of a ground forge . I built a little hole in the ground and stuck a long black pipe into the middle of the hole. I attached a hair dryer to the end to provide more airflow. It works surprisingly well, although the pipe does get very hot if i leave it for too long. With this humble forge, a pair of v-bit blacksmith tongs, and an old carpenter’s hammer I have been able to make a number of cool things like coat hangers, fire pokers, and knives. I might have to see if I have some pictures on my laptop if you guys are interested.

If any of this sound interesting you, I recommend checking out black bear forge or tobjorn ahman , those guys are great!

Inglorius Basterds

Hadn’t seen Westworld in forever, so watched that last night. Classic.

Watching Yul Brynner trash-talk Richard Benjamin was a hoot!

Jesus Christ Superstar! Seeing it on one of the national TV channels as I post
