FW3C temp limit? what do you set yours to?

I just got my FW3C yesterday so I checked the temperature calibration and found it within 1 C so I left if be. The default thermal limited is claimed to be set at 45C. I checked both temp calibration and thermal limit using a DMM's contact thermometer and my Raytek and they measure within 1C of each other so I just used the Raytek for testing from that point forward. On turbo the head temp gets up to 60C before step down. Once the temp stabilizes its 50C. This seems strange as the temp limit should be set to 45C by default. At this point I went through and set the temp limit to 45C and got the same results. 30C built in plus 15 clicks = 45C. I have read some people are setting the temp limit at up to 60 or 65C. You could freakin weld at that temp! The head temp when set to 45C is to hot to hold for my girly hands so I'd never go higher. What is everyone setting their temp limit at? I'd like to hear from people with A,C and T models BTW. Thanks!

I calibrated and then set my 2 fw3a’s limits to 46°, when run on turbo one of them reaches about 60-62° before starting its step down (acceptible), the other reached 76° before starting its step down (way to hot).

Both of them are updated to the newest “fixed” firmware. IMO neither are suitable to be ran on turbo or ever handed to a muggle. We all knew going in these lights do NOT support much turbo use…

I get turbo is a 30 second ride but it seemed funny the light did not step down at the set temp or at least close to it. Have you tried to lower the limit on the one that hits 76C to 30C + 1 click? what does it do then? Also I have never played with firmware on a flashlight. I have flashed PC’s, HDD’s, optical drives etc. many times. What fixes or changes were made in the “Fixed” firmware? What is the latest version? Is there an easy way to tell what is on the light? Can you point me in the direction of the bin files, equipment needed etc? Thanks
