Exciting!

Indeed! Does she have a name yet?

Are there more detailed specs on that triple? I’m interested.

Seems like it’s a non standard size, so optics can’t be swapped, 7135x14 running crescendo unless that’s changed. Simon was trying to run it on an attiny13 but it requires an attiny25 to work properly, I guess he got that sorted out. 3x SST-20. Simon probably still has the common binned greenish tinted ones since the good tinted SSTs are apparently hard to get unless you are Lumintop.

I’m curious to see the beam profile with that reflector. It would make it interesting to swap emitters…

As a separate host as well I hope.

convoy S12

My Convoy S21A with SST-40 5000K arrived today, so I went white wall hunting.

I assume it is this emitter: SST40-40-WDS-F50 FLUX: N5 Color: DA Voltage: VJ CRI: 70

At 100% does not look green even next to my E07 219B sw45k. Very likely below BBL.
At 30% it still does not look green even next to my E07 219B sw45k. Probably below BBL.
At 0.1% and 3% it looks green/yellow next to my E07 219B sw45k. Probably above BBL.

I did not do any measurements though. Spill is noticeably cooler than hotspot and corona.

I like rosy tint, and I can instantly see green/yellow tint on some of my SST-20 4000K lights. I don’t see any green tint at 30% and 100%, it looks “pure white” on a white wall.

Sounds great, potentially amazing with a dedome/slice?

Thank you for the feedback. Looking forward mine! It’s probably the best tint sst-40 I’ve heard about. When used outside that little bit of green/yellow at low currents should be acceptabl….

However, I doubt slicing the dome would improve things. All the 6500K SST-40 dedomes/sliced domes I’ve tried all went horribly green/yellow at lower currents. I’m not gonna try it again, unless someone has the balls to slice their 5000K ones…

Now that 5000K is actually readily available (unlike when the FT03 came out) I might be persuaded to give it a go… just gotta get a nice sharp blade and some washers.

Weird one. Couldn’t see a problem. Took it apart, put it back together, worked fine.

Uch why can’t I find it? It is so annoying…

That’s what I found too /shrug

Hi Simon. Prosperity to you! )
I checked the operation of the Convoy M3 thermal control, it worked at a temperature of 37°C on the surface of the head of the flashlight. I think this is very early, I would prefer the operation of thermal control at a temperature of ~50°C-55°C on the surface of the head of the flashlight.
Was this conceived, or is this a mistake and will be fixed in the future? Are the thermal control settings the same in all new flashlights?
But the function of thermal control itself is very important in flashlights, I was very glad when the thermal control appeared in flashlights Convoy
Thanks!

It’s probably 55 degrees at the driver; given the difference you’re noticing, 55 degrees at the front would be 71 degrees at the driver (and if there’s wind cooling the front, potentially even higher….)

I have the same question, i already asked Simon for more info, but i am still awaiting his reaction

@Simon, please let us know when you have more information.

Hi Yokiamy, you were answered here but image links seem broken now.

Maybe he will notice later and reupload them.
