[M4D deal updated] Lumintop EDC18 $39.95 (FW3A in a classic body)

A side switch takes up a bit more room around the driver area. So you basically just shift the space from the tail to the driver area. Net result is about the same length.
This light has an extra few millimeters in length to accommodate the longer battery. You can use 70mm while FW3A was limited to about 66mm or so.

A couple of questions: is the magnet removable and is there a hole for a lanyard to attach?

Would like the XP-L HI (5000k) please.

See here.

It’s a bit bigger than I was hoping for, the button sticks out a lot and the clip is kinda meh. It seems like more direct competition for an emisar d4 v2.

That said. Still looks interesting at a good price point.

I see several comments hating on the clip. I get that this light is being billed as comparable to the FW3A, which has a really nice clip, but do folks dislike a deep carry clip? Or is it simply because it’s not a collar type clip?

You can’t please everyone. No matter the light or the design there will always be people picking it apart and hating on the choices that were made. I try to ignore the negative opinion posts.

It’s not “hating”, it’s probably more a matter of preference for secure clip and for myself, a lassitude to see this lazy way of making pocket clip : making groove(s) on battery tube + clipped pocket clip.

So concerning this pocket clip, first I think that it should not rest halfway in the groove but sit flat on the tube, a bit like this :

But maybe it was just a prototype and they fixed this on the production version.

Second they could make a pocket clip with a complete ring (not photoshopped below) with two way positions like this :

What I have learned over the years reading about flashlights and knifes is that people get very picky about their clips. People often get after market clips to suit their needs. I personally do not like pocket clips and would not buy a flashlight if it could not be removed. The clips never make it out of the box on my gear.

My apologies for using the imprecise slang “hating on.”

Tally-ho, nice observation on where the clip rests in the groove instead of on the body. That is potentially unfortunate. Hopefully the clip is just flexible enough that it won’t cause any trouble engaging. And, perhaps resting partially in the groove will add the right amount of purchase on the pocket. I have no idea; just trying to be optimistic. I suspect it wasn’t purposefully designed this way but it could work out beautifully. Or not.

Regarding the double loop clip design—I just realized that I’ve never tried this type. I don’t think I would like it as much with the extra material exposed outside the pocket. But, I concede that it would be more robust reversible-clip solution.

Personally, I never reverse my clips. If I don’t use them for pocket carry, I remove them. I only wear a hat to keep the sun off my head so attaching a light to my brim never comes up.

I signed up on your GB page.

This is what I've been waiting for - a compact Lumintop side switch flooder w/deep carry. Still love the SD Mini for a compact thrower, though it's a little bigger. 95 mm length is still very compact in length, and narrow head for.

Dunno for sure for good it is, but I've always liked their anodizing quality.

Personally, the clip doesn’t have to be a collar type. I just want it fixed when attached and not capable of changing position. The S1R II is a good example. The groove being machined to perfectly fit the clip was a big improvement from the OG S1 Baton which I was always having to reposition the clip because it turned.

Martin, do you know if the FW3A clip will fit this EDC18?

It’s not likely, but who knows? Maybe Lumintop can offer just the clip for sale. (I have a black clip, but would like to buy a silver one)
