“”“If disassembled, can’t that piece be gently bent a little more to provide more coverage?”“”.
Lightbringer.
Bending the lock bar probably wouldn’t make much difference. in the space avail.
Also Change the agle of contact faces.
Be better to strip knife. Put that side of frame in vice.
and file/ diamond plate a tiny amount off that face.
Keeping the angleof face the same.
Front/back. AND Side to side. There are 2 angles involved.
That would allow the lock face to travel over a little more for more face contact.
WHile still giving full contact pressure.
And allowing the full contact to still occur with age, as they wear.
They are cut so as the moving part WILL move over further to take up any wear.
We just speeding up the “wear” a little.
More wear. More move over. MORE contact face. Better all round.
Would also allow any slight adjustment IF faces not truly flush,
Just be careful. Smaller IS better…
Just got a Civivi Baklash, if you want an outstanding flipper knife, this is knife is the S#%$
I can find 0 faults with this thing, perfect fit & finish, dead centering, solid lockup, hair shaving sharp and incredible action opening and closing, even comes with a nice case and micro fiber cloth, I don’t have a gocomma but I’d bet this guy can kick the crap out of one lol.
I have a Baklash. It really is amazing for the money. Whether you get the basic version for $42.50 or one of the fancy-scaled versions for $50-something, it’s easily one of the best knives you can get for the money. Most of the Civivi knives punch above their pay grade.
Now that I also have the Gocomma, I can tell you that your bet is safe. That’s not really a surprise though. The Gocomma costs like a third as much. I’m still skeptical that this is real D2. My schedule is crazy this time of year but as we get into fall, I’ll give the Gocomma a run as my primary EDC and see what happens.
That is the first of the Gocomma knives that has piqued my interest. Might have to pick one up. Is anyone besides Gearbest carrying it?
As for Civivi, none of their knives so far have really spoken to me either. I do own two of the Massdrop knives that WE produced (a Gent & Keen) and I’ve been impressed with their quality, I just haven’t found a Civivi I love yet.
My next purchase is going to be this newly released Steel Will beaut….
