My apologies for using the imprecise slang “hating on.”
Tally-ho, nice observation on where the clip rests in the groove instead of on the body. That is potentially unfortunate. Hopefully the clip is just flexible enough that it won’t cause any trouble engaging. And, perhaps resting partially in the groove will add the right amount of purchase on the pocket. I have no idea; just trying to be optimistic. I suspect it wasn’t purposefully designed this way but it could work out beautifully. Or not.
Regarding the double loop clip design—I just realized that I’ve never tried this type. I don’t think I would like it as much with the extra material exposed outside the pocket. But, I concede that it would be more robust reversible-clip solution.
Personally, I never reverse my clips. If I don’t use them for pocket carry, I remove them. I only wear a hat to keep the sun off my head so attaching a light to my brim never comes up.
This is what I've been waiting for - a compact Lumintop side switch flooder w/deep carry. Still love the SD Mini for a compact thrower, though it's a little bigger. 95 mm length is still very compact in length, and narrow head for.
Dunno for sure for good it is, but I've always liked their anodizing quality.
Personally, the clip doesn’t have to be a collar type. I just want it fixed when attached and not capable of changing position. The S1R II is a good example. The groove being machined to perfectly fit the clip was a big improvement from the OG S1 Baton which I was always having to reposition the clip because it turned.
Martin,
Any way to get some kind of comparison on how quickly the EDC18 steps down in Turbo and high modes compared to the FW3A? ( in other words, is the heat management and transfer about the same…or does the EDC18 handle it a little better?)
Happy birthday to me!
Is there going to be a single led reflector version? Zebralight really needs some competition. When is someone going to make a light comparable to the s64?
I agree - the lumintop SD Mini, to me, was about perfect size, finish, etc. Not sure how it compares to the SC64 family (you meant SC64?) - probable the SD Mini is a little bigger all around but has an SMO reflector and bigger head for better throw.
Look'n at the specs, the EDC05 is a closer fit but smaller. So the SC64 is about in the middle of the 2 at 92.5 mm long, 24.5 mm head diam.
