Of course I've had to get one and that's how I ended up here. SS bezel, desert tan finish, XHP35 HI, 21700.. Now that's a winner in my calendar :) And ofc, SMO reflector, no question.
On the AE store there's also more options to choose from - XP-L HI, XM-L2, SST-40 and XHP35 HI. No XHP50.2 though, which is interesting.. Myself, I've just got into liking the XP-G2's and XP-E2's lately - quite nice emitters Cree was making in the past I'd dare say. And I'm not even sure if I've got the good versions of them or just the worse "updated" / newer ones..
Now, to top it all up - March C8F 21700 Anduril, am I right ?
Kind of dilemma here which emitter to choose. With that size format, I believe both SST40 and XHP35 will have almost identical output, being driven not as hard as they possibly could be. I dont care for the extra throw of XHP35, as the reflector of this model is rather small anyway. What matters to me is the driver and ability to run turbo and high mode with almost empty battery. Here I would expect that XHP35 having a boost driver would be able to do so. Can someone confirm?
Can you please get more info on the drivers of SST40 and XHP35 versions? Would like to know if the XHP35 can use high/turbo mode with almost empty battery, as it is a boost driver. Also any chance of getting these in neutral white?
Haven't tried swapping the emitter so far, but that thermal glue doesn't look so strong. It's more like an old solidified thermal paste and it kinda chips like a very hard and old piece of cheese.
