Just got a Fireflies E01 from USA warehouse.

AND, I am not impressed.
Apparently they stock the early version.
Complaints:
The cooling fins are SHARP.
The button is pushed in and squishy.

I already had the same one from Banggood, it does not have the above issues.
On another thread someone had bought an E07 from the USA warehouse and said the early issues were resolved.
Not so on this E01.
It was $35 with a 21700 battery (testing it will report back) and charger.So I am not going to die because of it.
But I have been a big advocate of the E01, it is my favorite light.
NOT this one.

Could you post pictures of cooling fins on both of your E01s, for comparison? What does the battery look like?

Pictures won’t help.
The story is:
Run my finger down from the head, it is nice and smooth.
Run my finger up from the grip, it grabs the skin.
Because the switch is hard to press, the fingers are behind the switch on the fins, and it would be easy to get cut!
The tops and bottoms do have a bevel, but the BOTTOMS of the fins have an edge.

I can probably fix it with a polishing wheel and small file. It is the clear version, so I think I can make it right without cosmetic damage.

As to the battery, it is a powder blue unmarked 21700. It is an industrial type battery, there is not even a flat top level with the wrapper. It does work in the light, but one must be VERY careful not to reverse polarity, both ends look the same!
This light has a caution about using a high drain battery, so the only real issue is the Mah of the battery. I have it on the charger doing a test, and I will report back later about the capacity.

So here is the followup:

I was able to de-horn the edges using a small file and a polishing wheel. The good news is this has the clear finish, so outside of a few scratches due to my careless work with the file, it looks and feels fine.

The battery tests out to 4930 Mah. It does run an Astrolux FT30 on Turbo without complaint.

My biggest concern is than I have an E07 inbound from the USA warehouse. It is black. The early models had the sharp edge problem, and I hope this one is good because I won’t be able to cure it the same way.

E07 came today
Only took a few days from USA warehouse.
Appears perfect in every way and includes a 30Q 21700 battery.
Very happy.

I’m glad you got a second one you like. I didn’t expect any correlation between quality and warehouse location. That would be too easy.

Actually, the E07 from the US warehouse has a stripped down UI. So there is a correlation of some kind.
However, it appears to be the updated version with no problems.
The E01 was probably older stock due to the issue with the sharp fins.
