FF ROT 66 gen 2 Whats the update?

I really hope they will be reintroducing a new PL47 V2 with SST-20s 4000k.

Hopefully Jacky would share us some pictures of the new rot66 before sale starts.
Also, maybe some floodier optic as an option.

Hoping they stay with the stainless steel tailcap for gen2 as well. It’s one of the reasons why I like the original ROT66. SS tailcap and bezel + ha3 7075 aluminum makes it a brick.

Yes same here, those 3 points are what makes this light unique.

I’m hoping for an improved switch design.

It look just like the previous gen rot 66 with 12 led.Comes with extra flood beed.
I wonder the color scheme they have for this gen 2.

Pictures are excerption from the ff-light

The12 x Osram 15W CW emitters 18000lumens emitters were dropped as options as they put out too much heat and would be more costly.

It’s true. This emitter has very good throw performance on ROT66 G2, but the heat rise up so quick in 20 seconds.

We will post final test result soon.

But they’re very low forward voltage so they probably perform exceptionally well at lower outputs, and retain that throw performance even still.

I think it would be cool to offer them.

Yes. At lower levels it’s just great

I could live with those 20 second boost. It will be a great splurging piece of flashlight

Even if Fireflies doesn’t offer them stock I’ll probably just get them modded into the host regardless.

I assume the Osram emitter Fireflies was talking about is the KW CSLPM1.TG?

ROT66 gen 2 is now in stock on FF’s website, and with Osram emitters as an option!

Oh boy. I may have to be in on this one with that piece of info!!!

Fireflies - is there a way to dim the aux LEDs, and/or turn them off?

When will the the special “interested” price be released? Now that it is available at ff . com ?

The Osram emitter premium is pricey, anyone know what the single emitter price parity is compared to something like the XPL Hi or 219Bs? Does the extra $30 make sense? I’m a newbie to the /Flashlights, but quickly becoming a hoarder.

I’ve got the Emisar DV and DVS, FF Eos7 (favorite), and Sofirn Sp33 v2 with 50.2 emitter.

I’m also assuming the Osram has much more candela compared to others, and that being the case, the 15° TIR optics will be an especially long thrower? Does this also mean the extra 45° TIR optic that’s included with the flashlight will enable a more floody+throwy Osram emitter when it is used?

Thanks in advance for any info on my questions.

I’m just waiting for the Ti/Cu/brass ROTT66 V2  :+1:

Yes

1: AUX light has High / Low / Off , on low mode it is very dim , Off mode to turn it off. It’s all controlled by UI.

2: You can also dim the aux light by rotate the 3 trimmers .

Thanks for your question.

High bin emitter sometimes is double or triple the price than lower bins . Regardless the high cost , it ’s not easy to get a stable supply.

ROT66G2 utilizes Osram 15W w2 high bin, which cause the configuration much higher price.

15 degree optics has better throw , the 45 degree optics included enable smooth floody beam.

Oh yeah, 219B with 15deg optic....

Can't wait for next update
