Fireflies released 3 lights in a very, very short time frame so they never got any actual user feedback and bug reports while designing them. These were their first lights and they were relatively complicated multi-emitter lights with aux lights that were never done before except for the D4S by Emisar. There were some imperfections and room for improvement as with any product including cars and cell phones. I own about a dozen Fireflies lights and am overall happy with them. I also pointed out a good number of issues spreadout through the FF threads. Jack seems willing to listen and have been improving upon these lights in later batches. I’m sure the gen 2 will be much more refined than the gen 1 products. So far the E07 has been my favorite single cell hotrod. It is beautiful, practical, and OMG bright. The highest measurement I got was 7.5k real turn-on lumens with the XP-L HI NW (most were 6.7k to 7.1k). To date, it is the brightest production light for the size and we are very fortunate FF made this available.

I completely understand, like I said above I need to quit moaning about things and just give it try. I’m sure I would find it to be a great light.

I've fallen into that trap a few times myself, it's not that hard to do really, but I have to say I have 2 x E07 and 2 x rot66 and it's really hard not to like them. They look different than all my other lights and really perform.

My wife has been selected Nurse of the Month or some such and is going to be featured in their Newsletter, she wanted me to take a new pic of her for this occasion yesterday. So off we go down a long hiking trail to the “waterfall” (yeah, right, a waterfall in the middle of Texas in the middle of Summer, no such thing, but the stone retaining wall was nice and worked out ok) She was in partial shade so I pulled out my Titanium E07 and lit her up for the photo’s, on only level 5 of 7. Mind you, in full sunlight at 10 in the morning she complained “What are you trying to do, blind me?” hahahaha

My Ti E07 has Samsung LH351D’s, pretty potent on a Samsung 30T 21700 cell.

How difficult would rate this swap? I’ve done a few triples, but never 7x LEDs at one time. Any tips? I’d love me some LH351D’s

No, I leave the domes on. It’s close but works if you’re careful about centering the emitter on the pads and press excess solder out from under them. I like the W6 5000K for the highest power factor, they have a nice tint in my opinion, better for me than higher CRI variants. If I remember right it makes around 7000 lumens, cell should be charged now so I’ll check it…

On a fresh charged 30T my Ti E07 starts off at 6610 lumens.

My clear aluminum E07 on a fresh charged 30T starts off at 7710 lumens.

Do not attempt. In hindsight I got lucky once and unlucky twice. I ended up just shaving all of them.

What went wrong? I see some emitters look cockeyed relative to the TIR, but that could be camera angle… Or is this that some of the phosphors look discolored?

Dale, what magic are you doing to get 3/3 right? (I assume “lots of practice” might be a good part of the answer)

that’s the camera angle. The discoloration is where the silicone dome got torn some tightening the bezel
