Lumintop FW1A discussion and review

Can’t wait for this one. The FW3A has the best form and UI of any light I’ve used or seen, but you just can’t beat a traditional single emitter with reflector. Even with the narrowest Carclo option, beyond a few meters the result is a big wall of light. That can be nice at times, but I’d gladly sacrifice two-thirds of the lumens for a little more beam distance. Just makes a more useful, all-purpose light, in my opinion.

The D1 variants are w/ reflectors and seem to do very well and people like them. The extra length and mass help w/ heat dissipation.

The E01 from FireFlies does not have a reflector and it has a nicely focused beam with a very very nice throw.

has any one tried FW3A XPL HI 3D compare to Nichia 219C 4000K and SST20 4000k.

What is recommended for flood light and EDC

Thank you for the input...

Very interested in FW1A!

Neale said over PM that FW1A should be available in a week!

Pretty excited about this. Any information on emitters or finishes?

No clue! I’d be swaping emitters anyway so actually don’t care.

Only if they add 351D then i might leave this FW as is LOL

I agree, LH351D or 219C would be best. I expect this will come with an XP-L Hi, but we’ll see soon.

Holding page is up on Neal’s site!

New web page for FW1A

Yeap and accessories will be available around September 30. (18350/18500 tube and SS bezel)

This part of the shorty tubes also applies to the FW3A, right?

Thanks

Between the XPL HI 3D @4750k and SST20 4000k LEDs, which would provide the greatest amount of throw? Both of these LEDs, as well as the XPL HI 1A @6500k, will apparently be offered by Neal in the FW3A.

Neal that was fast.

Very nicely and I’m interested but as I understand the head of FW1 and FW3 have interchangeable bodies, correct?

If that’s true, than would it be feasible for you to sell just the head portion separately and perhaps exclude the led and driver if it will cut down the costs?

Hi Neal! Any chance it will be available in different colours and finishes (e.g. raw)?

Ooooooo

Updating the first post now!

Thanks Active A1 for the info.
