How do you Make stainless bezel have heated colors?

I want to make heat colors on my W30 bezel, what is my best procedure for doing this?should I use a stove a blow torch or what?

I would prefer it to look like This And I’m not sure on how the way he does it because it comes out so well, i’ve tried it before on one of my other flashlights and I didn’t come out THAT well.

Thanks

Heat to the desired colour and quench in water to stop the colour change
temper colours

What happens if I just heated it up and it came out pretty good but I didn’t quench it? Will the color stay on?

The colour changes as the steel is heated so the source of heat is the darker areas. So heat it when you see colour remove the heat. Sand a bit of scrap clean then gently heat it in one spot the colour will move out from that point. you will see what I mean

Clean the part with alcohol before the heating. Fingerprints and stuff will give you stains during the heating.

As said the cooling to freeze the color is most important.
I use a blowtorch.
