I’ve been eyeing the TN42 since it was released. Even after getting one of the first BLF GT groupbuy lights, the TN42 was still calling me.
I recently got a deal on a used one in great shape, and it’s awesome.
I noticed that the engraved logo doesn’t seem to match any other photos I’ve seen. I spent some time looking on Google Images and didn’t find any with a mixed-case ‘ThruNite’ marking like mine.
Here is my light, with a mixed-case ‘ThruNite’ and no ® mark:
Selfbuilt’s sample from late 2016 has an all upper-case ‘THRUNITE’ and the ® mark, but the engravings are down on the head rather than higher up on the bezel:
Oddly, the photos on Thrunite’s site and other seller’s sites show no markings:
To be clear, I’m very pleased with my TN42. The driver and other innards look just like other photos I’ve found, the reflector is flawless, and it certainly performs as I expected
I’m just curious if anyone else has a mixed-case ‘ThruNite’ logo like mine.
Use it mostly during the winter after deer season Jan Feb March, weekend nights on the farm in Armada when we hunt coyotes…it don’t bother them much, they are use to vehicle traffic from the main road, headlights crossing the fields… I scan between mine and my brothers blind some 600yds to 800yds on a diagonal across another open field…try to catch eyes/motion when they cross between the heavy woods fence row’s. My NV scope is good to about 200yds…. if they are heading towards my brothers blind, I radio him a heads up. It’s something to do in the winter…. they start raiding the farms in packs…
The TN42 is on my wish list for quite some time. However it seems almost impossible to find it on some really attractive sale. At HKE its been for long time for like 200 bucks, which is kind on the expensive side.
