Amazon Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

Its showing like $11 for me.

You have to use the vipon code at amazon and put it in the promotional code box at checkout to get the discount.
Unfortunately the code want be available again for about 13 hours.

Thanks for the tear down and shot of the pill. the shelf looks like it wasnā€™t a solid piece but tacked on afterwards.

Snagged one. Many Thanks ā€¦

Vipon coupon code: 9DLB-6PT7EF-RRX6AE

I stand corrected. The light has a 3x18650 wrapped pack in it. It is indeed 6000mah 3.7v.

You opened yours up?

Iā€™m going to run a discharge capacity test when I get mine.

Waitā€¦ what?

The vipon code for the moobibear(!) is 11.27, but itā€™s listed on amazon at 10.99, straight-up.

Whatā€™m I missing, and how youse get ā€™em for 5-6bux?

Charmast uberpowerbank:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SW6M1PX

vipon code brings it down to 20, 5% coupon knocks it down a bit more. Got mine for <20bux out the door.

Ah, here we areā€¦

Go crazyā€¦

Ignore the displayed pricing and apply Vipon code anyway.

Of course I opened it. It had screws. Isnt that what you are supposed to do with something you just purchase? Open it up and see whats inside/how it works? Thats how I grew up at least.

Ran out for the day, so I gots ta wait.

Right on. :+1:

BTW, mine was completely dead when it arrived. The light wouldnā€™t turn on. Charging it now. It was initially only pulling about 0.1A from my USB wall plug, but after a while it went up to 1A.

Same here.

Iā€™ve seen that with a lot of lithium batteries from overseas. It charged fine.

FYI, when pulling 0.5A current from the USB port, I got 13,650 mWh out of it. This translates to 3,689 mAh capacity @ 3.7V. Alas, even though the port would no longer supply current at this point, the light would still turn on.

I wanted to initially measure capacity using 1A current, but the USB canā€™t deliver it reliably. If you try to go higher than about 0.9A, voltage starts dropping notably. Anyway, not a big deal. I didnā€™t really buy it for the power bank function.

As a portable work light, it works fine, other than the blue/red strobe/disco mode. Wonder if Police would take an issue with it if they saw you running it on the side of the road at night.

Welp, I grabbed one up in muh cart. Shud be kinda overkill with all da juice, but price and reviews look good. Thanks! :+1:

Amazingly, and I mean amazingly, mine already arrived today. Damn!

No typische Amazon hijinx of sitting on it for 2wks to see if you order anything else that can be bundled into the same box, nothing.

Quite nice. Big donk, thatā€™s for sure, but to power a small city like it can, itā€™s fine.

Wasnā€™t sure which colors were covered by the code (white/black/somethingelse), but it came up with white, so thatā€™s what I ordered. Sharp-looking. Topping off my phone as Iā€™m typing this. (Came almost fully charged.)

Charging my PB2S off the ā€™puter, will top off the Charmast when itā€™s done (ā€“3- 2 more).

Geezeā€¦ talk about fast shipping! They must have a stash of em in NYC with delivery drones loitering above your home. Thanks for the first impressions. I couldnā€™t find any technical reviews or tear-downs online, but they seem to be holding up fine for most of those who own them. I tried to grab a black one but the coupon wouldnā€™t apply, so white it is.

Can you please check to see if it has pass-through charging?

Hmm, looked, and Delaware, but close enough.

I tried looking at the ā€œmanualā€ but my electron microscope is in the shop. Good God, why do they have to use microprint? Itā€™s like a few postage-stamps stuck together at the edgesā€¦ like, seriously??

Only thing I can do is try it, but I pretty much charged up everything that charges.

Eh, back in a little whileā€¦

Okay, it seems to do it.

Connected it to my ā€™puter, and the blinkylights seem to indicate that it started charging. Plugged in my buglamp that doesnā€™t fry anything but the bugs use as a tanning-bed (some gnatlike things seemed to get tangled up in there and died of starvation or something), and that lit up that it was charging, too.

So, Iā€™d give it a qualified yes.

 Thanks for checkā€™n it out. Well alright then! Its a jack-of-all-trades. At least for the ones Id be concerned with. Now if it can just last a few years before becoming a toxic addition to the landfill, itā€™ll earn its keep!
