Reccomendation help! Coke can, neutral, rechargable light!

Hi all, I’ve not been keeping a pulse on new lights recently.

Can anyone reccomend a light with following attributes:

3x or 4x 18650
Neutral LEDs, 4000 to 4500k preferred.
In light USB charging
Decent thermal management- I use the light in a warm environment (25-30C). I don’t mind the light getting hot, it must ramp down to protect itself though.

If nothing exists stock, I’m happy to mod something, prefer pre-soldered LED MPCBs to reflowing multi-LED boards.

Thanks in advance!

Sofirn SP36 with LH351D I think it’s called SP36S

On Banggood, both the SP36 and SP36S are listed as 5000k LH315 emitters…?

Is this a typo or are there other differences? Thanks!

SP36S and SP36 BLF have the same light hardware(LH351D 5000k with a FET+1 driver).

However, the SP36S can use QC fast charging, and has a simpler UI.

The SP36 BLF has Anduril though, which is why I would get the SP36.

Well, thats not completely true

The SP36S is the ‘simple’ edition
The SP36 standard has Narsil and XPL2 (with the ugly corona)
The SP36 BLF uses the samsung LHD and has Anduril

I just changed my SP36 mcpcb with the replacement from Barry @Sofirn and wow, that tint is way better,
So i have a SP36 with LHD and Narsil

I would go for the “SP36 BLF Anduril”

My vote … Airpro DC7. I own two. Great light with built-in type “C” charging …

That airpro looks nice, how is the build quality?
It looks like a Q8 with usb C, which is a good thing

Great light in my opinion. Very similar build quality as the BLF Q8. I own 3 of the BLF Q8’s for comparison.

I got a couple, and would’ve recommended it, but it’s a bit on the cooler side and throwier like the Sofirn Q8, not warmer and floodier like the BLF Q8.

Nice build quality, with lobotomised Narsim-like UI. Has only the main features like ramping, press’n’hold for moonlight, 2click for turbo. Also a “breathing” sideswitch if you want it (I don’t), and soft lockout.

Think it also has stepped-mode, but I left it ramping/stepless.

Thanks for the info, i’ll just stick with my SP36 then.
Just swapped the mcpcb from my SP36 tonight for the LH351D, man what a difference, i like it way better now

Yokiamy, what did Barry charge for the the LH351D mcpcb? I have a couple of the original SP36 that I need to swap out.

I have bought misc Sofirn accessories direct from their Aliex store before, does this need to come from Barry?

Definitely recommend the SP36 form factor, three 18650 barrel size with congruent head diameter, easy grip and pocket with long run time. I picked up one of the Sofirn holsters for around $5 so I can just toss it in a glove box etc and not worry, also very comfortable pouch carry for long evening walks when my headlamp is primary.

Only real down side is the glue, but if you get the LH351D version probably will never be an issue.

I opened mine using a bent nail, like Wieselflinkpro came up with.

Barry charged me just 10$ for the mcpcb including shipping and a working track and trace, which is a steal.

I have wet sanded the mcpcb to achieve optimal thermal contact, the thermal conduction now is outstanding, the thing gets hot in no time on turbo
