KD (kaidomain): Deals and new products thread

So what you are saying is after 3 years no lessons have been learned. :person_facepalming:

Looks like most Luminus LEDs are on sale.
Very good price on SST-10 UV.
$5.69 for bare emmiter (56% off).

Could you load the beamshots KB?

I guess the “return” section of the website is just for show. I submitted one over 2 weeks ago but no contact or further instructions.

No acknowledgement in this thread of the issues either. Can’t say i’m surprised based on past posts but in the future I will refrain from ordering new products and let other people be Kaidomain testers.

Hi contactcr

Are you meaning you had create a product return request in our system?

You can let me know what is your returning tracking number.

I can track where is the package.

Thank you

Ban

It doesn’t even say to send it back much less where to send it. I don’t see an address listed anywhere on your entire site and no one has contacted me so I don’t know why you are thinking I would have shipped this back for more than I paid.

Return #289 and #290

If the products don’t fit together you should remove them and take it up with your mfg. I’m not shipping unsellable product back.

Feel free to correct me if these products are good and let me know how they are supposed to be used.

We are using Quad PCB and Quad LENs to install on our LED drop-in module.

Please let me know how you use on the Quad PCB.

Please note that those are DIY component for your DIY application.

You need to make sure the dimension is correct for your application.

If our listing parameter is wrong, this is our fault.

We are not making any component that is suitable for specific branded flashlight. If we do so, the title that we use is for xxxxxxxxxx.

This is the aims of DIY.

Hope you can understand with it.

I get your message on our system.

“The holes in the MCPCB are too big and cause the optic to sit too far down on the MCPCB. It will crush the LEDs if you tighten it down”

The bigger holes on the PCB: We have plastic screw to stable the PCB and mount on the quad drop-in pillar.

The smaller holes on the PCB: It is just for LENs ’s leg and avoid to move.

I don’t know how you use with Quad PCB and Quad Lens.

And you mention that is the LENs will crush if you tighten it down.

So what is the height of your flashlight’s head.

If it is too tight, will you consider to sand the LEN’s hole?

The hole in the lens is fine. The dome of LED fits as it should. The lens is going to rest on the base of the LED and crush it there. It does not need to go around the whole LED including base/substrate.

Did you try to put your module in a light with the lens and bezel tight?

@BanL - the problem is the legs on the optic just need to be a mm or so longer.

The optic is what it is, probably off the shelf part? The MCPCB is what KD specced out and the holes are too wide so it drops in too far.

A previous version of this optic/board combination from KD (I have one) had a thinner 1mm thick MCPCB which was also not good: the holes were either too wide or the optic needed a bit sanded off the legs. I never bothered to find out what exactly was wrong because I never used it, but it clearly did not work off the shelf, something had to be fixed.

I wish there was red option available…

I fully agree with you 1stein. BanL, can you please try to source some Osram Ostar Projection Compact LE R Q8WP LEDs? These are very powerful red light LEDs.

Can anyone confirm that this XHP70 N2 5A really has a cri 80+?

Just to be sure you know that is 1st gen 70 right? not 70.2

I know

Thats unfortunate, they used to have the same tint and bin xhp70.2

How’s performance?
