Sofirn C01S SST-20 4.000K 95CRI / Low-High version available again!

They don’t: the C01S drives a power led at several hundred milli-amps, and the C01 drives a 5mm led at 25mA.

Thanks for a quick reply djozz

another word…… Sofirn C01S driver cant be used as vampire light?

Here my knowledge is a bit limited. But what I suspect: the C01S driver has some MCU to make the modes, that chip uses a bit of current (the Attiny13 for example uses about 2mA) so when the battery can not deliver 2mA anymore the light will stop. A true vampire light has no MCU and can work on lower currents than 2mA.

But there is people around who know more about drivers than me.

Looks like blue sold out and only 9 black left if aliexpress counts are accurate. I wonder if this means round 2 in L-H is coming soon?

Edit: Bamboozled again, down to 1 unit and the stock jumped back up to 428 pieces total. Oh well

I put a FET driver in one of my C01S if anyone is interested:

Might be able to squeeze out a bit more output with further tweaks.

Nice work!
I’d be VERY interested to own such a pocket rocket.

Good luck with that, Mtn has been out of that driver and most of their other ones forever.

I just ordered mine last week…

Sorry, you are right. They have two 12mm FET drivers. One is in stock and the other isn’t. I must have missed that one. Last time I looked at them they were out of stock, but it’s been a while.

C01S Black is available, with diffuser.

try these …

2 pk description states
Simple 2 Modes: High: 100 lm(1h, 25min), low: 3 lm (25h, 15min). Twist the light head to switch the mode (high - low)

so which are these lo hi or hi lo?

Sounds like low-high, but perhaps Sofirn can confirm?

I recently received a high > low version, ordered from Amazon since I was already putting in another order.

I would normally strongly dislike this mode order, but I wanted a small light to carry at work for unexpected inspection needs. Basically, all I need for that is 50-100 lumens as conveniently accessible as possible. I tried just using the light on the expensive phone they issued me, but it doesn’t cut it.

The C01s is perfect for this need.

The tint looks ok - definitely better than the Fenix E05 I was using before, and high CRI. There is ring around the beam when staring at a white wall, but so far I don’t notice it in use.

The only flaw is that over time the moment comes that when trying to twist the light off, instead the bezel comes off. I know it is blasphemy, but the bezel threads need a drop of glue.

Seems to be more common to the BLF version. Have there been reports of this problem for the anodized version also? Thus far I was lucky with them.

Why is low 5 lumens now?

Just screw on the bezel first as hard as you can, then screw the head on.

No, you should not do that, already tried that, the bezel will reach so far over the pill that when twisting the light on, the bezel will touch the battery tube before the driver does, so it will not light anymore.

I’ve had this happen on both of mine. Stuck on in FET until I got pliers to get pill out. Can’t tighten body too much or else bezel will give in first like you say. I sort of agree but would never be the first to mention it

Interesting, I don’t have that issue with mine. You could try filing the bezel down a bit.

I thought about filing the bezel too, but I prefer a bit of glue in the threads instead.
