ouch, these are 2V leds that should not handle more than 1.5A. so on a 10440 either the led gets way more current than that and blows, or if the driver is made for it on average 2W of heat must be dissipated by the driver which is rather steep.
Like Djozz already said, not a good idea at all. These red LEDs have a very low forward voltage and are way more sensitive to heat and overcurrent than SST-20 for example.
You could try using a 10440 3.2V LiFePO₄ battery (if these exist) but still the odds are quite good that...
