FREEME ✌ ASTROLUX FT03S SFH55 9300lm & FT03 SFT40 2200lm 1300m NarsilM v1.3 USB-C - ALIVE

I would pay for a SBT-90.2 version.

Make it happen!

It has been 2 weeks been using FT03 SST40 5700K. I am very happy with the result. The first Astrolux brand I’ve own and first long throw light. This is a must own. Here what I’ve found very interesting feature about this light.

*Battery check and telling you by no. Of flash
*Lock-out manually by loosening the tailcap or electronics lockout
*Standby green switch, it felt like it always remind you to always turn your flashlight in lock out mode.
*Thermal dissipation so far very good no problem in 2min. I think it has to do with thermal mass bcos it has no deep fins on head

Ft03 is not suitable for near/close range. Spot is really intense if you used high mode for close distant. But to add an edge how to properly used Ft03, used headlamp that has large spill area or used another flood flashlight. In my case I used convoy s12 on my oher hand. It will give very comfortable environment when walking. Often, I dont walk when I light on Ft03 and just stand still. Trust me it not intend for walking flashlight.

Ok that just my own opinion.

code please

Would appreciate a code. Thank you

It is on sale right now for $31.99 no code needed.

When it’s on sale, codes do not work. If you want to save $2 you have to wait for the sale to end.

…something like that?
…with adhesive aluminum tape?
…so?

Yes, I really like this type of switch light. I gifted some Sofirn C8F’s last Christmas and those switches light up only when you turn the light on and even then only for 5 seconds. Such a solution is a waste of the LED’s, in my opinion, as they neither help you locate the switch with the light turned on nor help you locate the light with the light turned off. I gave one to my father and the switch light annoys me every time I happen to use it.

I physically lock out the FT03 on the shelf, so the switch light doesn’t operate all the time. The switch light doesn’t consume much power, though, and some people probably leave it on to help locate the light in a dark room, but I agree that the green switch encourages or reminds the user to physically lock out the light. I keep my FT03 in its holster, so there’s no reason to leave the switch light on.

This light is actually pretty low on mass, but that’s one reason it’s inexpensive. The FT03 is known to heat up pretty quickly compared with other lights its size, but I never have a problem with heat. I don’t use turbo for long periods of time, though, and mostly use high (top of ramp) unless I’m wanting maximum distance.

Yes, the FT03 SST40 is not a flood light, but I walk with it almost every night. For me, the spill is fine for lighting the ground ahead. I tend to prefer throwy lights as bright flooders seem to have more suppression of my night vision. In fact, I see no purpose for super-bright flooders that produce a “wall of light”, other than showing off to friends, as those lights produce a super high-contrast scene with only a over-lit near-field area and entirely dark far-field and peripheral.

The FT03 XHP50.2 might be more to your liking as it’s brighter and floodier while still shooting a good distance. At sale or coupon prices, it’s not unreasonable to own both  . These are superb budget lights for people that prefer a more “classic” flashlight size and shape or who just want better runtime than 18650 tube lights. Though there’s not a Muggle mode, anyone can learn to use this light as the basic controls are intuitive. If switched to stepped grouping, pretty much anyone can use the FT03 without instructions other than “don’t shine it in anyone’s eyes.”

The Astrolux EC01 is also a great budget light and will fit into smaller pockets than the FT03. If you don’t want the XHP50.2 in the FT03, you might try that emitter in the EC01. I intend to get one, eventually.

Code please.

Is there a way to calibrate the sensor/set the temp limit on narsil? I ran it at full ramp and it stepped down after about 5 minutes and it was only warm. Maybe like 40 degrees. I think the button top cell not making proper contact is what’s causing the problem. When the spring gets hot the driver also does and it starts to step down. That’s what it seems like anyway.

Sure, you go into the menu options and activate the temperature setting, it goes to Turbo, you hold the light until you think it’s hot enough and then click the button. It memorizes this heat level.

Use a fully charged cell, just like normal usage. Use high drain to speed up the process.

Consult the manual for the FT03 as it might have slightly different option numbers than in the video.

Tips, ramp downward while you hold the button for 16 seconds.

Start with room temp light, not already heated up.

If you start from ramping mode on FT03, wait for 2 fast and 3 slow blinks, tap twice (make sure you get confirmation blinks with each press). Then it goes to Turbo.

Anyone know where I can find a diffuser which spreads more light to the side like the ROT66 one. The Astrolux ones is too thick as well. It blocks 30-40% light… Something kinda like this but bigger Fenix AOD-S Diffuser Small, diameter 25,4 mm | Advantageously shopping at Knivesandtools.co.uk

It even more better to had another light, for truewer flooder like light, like the Astrolux Ec01, PL47g2 or something that floodier. FT03 is dedicated for thrower, bcos it was design that way, the reflector was deeper and surface is smooth. If you take a look the character of flood light, it will be the opposite of thrower light. Something like these:

*Orange peal reflector
*Shallow reflector
*Add optics lens to even smooth the beam edge esp for multiple led
*Muliple led, more led more lumens
*Large led
*dome-on led, instead of flat surface.

I’m thinking of getting the XHP50.2 one and hang it in a garage. That’s why I want a difusser. Might end up getting the LT1 instead. not sure yet.

Here is a knotty idea :person_facepalming: ,why not get one of each ? after-all deep down you know you want both.

 stop tempting me. I have already purchased an MF01S and NI40 in the last 3 months. Might not seem like a lot but it is for me. also have an MF01 and FT03 with a cracked glass. I have to make up my mind now cause the price will go up in one day. How am I gonna do this… I mean I can’t even decide what to eat.

I was on the edge for few days myself, should i get the blue one or the green one sst40 or xhp50.2 :person_facepalming: and then decided to get one of each :person_facepalming: since none of my 4 LT1 are ready yet for me to buy, this way i`ll have something to play with for the time being.
Hope the wife don`t find out…. :person_facepalming:

Luckily I don’t have a wife

Edit: this post is beginning to look like two mirrors facing each other

@Th558
Now you just run out of excuses just have to get both of them
