Anduril firmware has the double click levels in lockout. So it’s a fairly recent build it ships with. The tailcap magnet is strong enough to hold the light in funny angles, even on round pipes.
The switch has had a huge upgrade. It’s firm and tactile, no more squishy button. And the switch SMD’s are aligned, yay.
The beam is perfect. A bit bigger than the stock optic in a Emisar D4. I ordered mine with 219B.
Side by side with my D4Ti, with 219b. The PL47v2 is a bit brighter. Being firmware or other factors i don’t know. But it def’ has more power.
The first pic is a comparison of a D4S with tint mixed 219C’s. 2x 4000K and 2x 5000K. vs the 219b’s 4500K.
Other pic is the “ice blue” AUX leds compared to the D4S’ cyan AUX. The PL47v2 is bright. The AUX settings are; OFF - FLASHING - ON.
There is no low for some reason. Looking forward to getting a flashing adapter so i can mess with the firmware
Other than that tiny little firmware thing, and wishing the magnet was a tad stronger. It’s still a 9.5/10 recommendation.
I ordered mine directly from FF a few days after they released it
Received my PL47 G2 with 219b sw45k. First impressions are very good. The switch is muuuch better than on the first models and the ice cool aux lights are neat. The tint is glorious neutral white with rosy tint, which brings out color beautifully. Very happy with the backlighted switch too. Didn’t realize this had a modified Anduril, was a bit surprised that there was no blinks at floor/ceiling/7135. But no important features are missing from what I can see. It even has the manual memory, which was added recently (five clicks from on).
Wow!! So far so good. 9.5 rate? Gosh… I was right about this light, high cri, high power, 21700 capabilities and anduril…it just right for what I’ve looking for!
Maukka also like it…anyway big thank for cri test and now confirm High cri from this light is awesome news.
But why? isn’t that indicator for as a “FLOOR” and “CELLING” of ramping mode. Its not a big deal, IDK…what do you think guys? We still had time since it hasn;t shipped yet and can direct it to Freeme if script can be reverse back to original…
It’s not a big deal though. Would prefer the original way, but as long as you configure it right, it’s going to matter at all.
High CRI with a very nice balanced floody beam(SST-20 of course).
Superb handling.
Stronk magnet.
FD2 SST-20s. I got lucky since the first units came with FD2 SST-20s.
Great Anduril UI.
Creamy output
Good thermal handling.
Stupid good waterproofing.
PL47-2 AUX off: 0.09mA (6.3years to drain it’s 5000mAh cell)
PL47-2 AUX on: 1.75mA (119days/0.33year to drain it’s 5000mAh cell)
The AUX leds are BRIGHT, but also sucks a lots of juice. As a comparison; the light consumes 3mA on the ramp floor (219b leds).
But i use the AUX leds to indicate the light is “active/not locked out”. I always unscrew the tailcap to lockout my e-switch lights. So the high AUX drain is no biggie
So I just received mine and put a 30Q in it. I got the sst20 4000k version. Is the 30Q a bit too high current for this version? I have not noticed any issues but can’t see any specific warnings about using high current cells.
Should be fine. 30Q peaks at 20A, settles at about 15A, thats max 5A pr. emitter. The SST-20’s can handle currents above 6A, so no worrys
The driver will throttle down due to heat, waaay before the emitters takes any damage
Can anyone measure the inside diameter of the Fireflies PL47 gen II tube? What 21700 batteries are you using? I bought 2 Shockli IMR Purple 4550mah, and they are somewhat thicker than normal, 21.5mm or so. Will they serve for the PL47 GEN 2?
Yep, having the same problem with my 26650 Shockli batteries, they want come out my Haikelite SC04…
I don’t have a gen II, but my gen I measures 22.2mm(I assume gen II has still the same batterie tube)
