*BLF LT1 Lantern Project) (updated Nov,17,2020)

I forgot about this project a bit. Can I order now at Ali, or do I have to wait for a message?

… so the random people that this guy picked will not be getting a PM now???

No, the codes for Amazon purchases only work ONCE.
AE and ebay are another matter
:frowning:

Setting up the system on AE and ebay as was done was not a very wise move. So what if people on the list have to wait a month ot whatever. Those in the firsy hundred or so have waited a lot longer… Keep it all in mind for whatever the next big thing is. Either open the doors for the whole world or take turns and be patient.

So the final production version has only 5 chips connected? I need maximum lumens. Is it easy to connect the other two?

Appreciate you being forthcoming with that Alex, but $hit man, that seriously goes against the spirit of the whole group buy. There are folks damn near 4 years in waiting, and entitled decisions such as these spit in the face of those who patiently wait and follow the rules. Part of me respects your ability to game the system, but as someone who lurked this for years, then jumped in around 1300, it sucks knowing some will be holding lanterns before thousands of those deserved ones who followed the rules.

Yeah, it’s a shame how Sofirn decided to handle this group buy. I followed the rules, was one of the first 500 for my first light and I ordered it. I’m patiently waiting for the second round (and hoping for more color options) but with the group buy limited to 3000 and all the people gaming the system I’m not counting on getting my second light at the reduced price.

The BLF team deserves major kudos for this effort, and I’m glad Sofirn worked out as a partner to manufacture the light but I hope we learn from this and strongly discourage manufacturers to take over the group buy after this.

Way to out yourself as a DB. By the way, thanks for buying up some of the first 500pcs that I don’t want. :+1:

I’ve already pointed out the flaws in this system several days ago.

Edit: removed cheaters method.

Wow, it’s worse than I thought, people are actually stealing others positions! That’s low!

It amazes me how GBs always go wrong at some point, this one was so well planned and it still goes to crap. I feel so sorry for the team that put so much in for this to be messed up beyond their control.

Now everybody take a breath. The whole group buy has not gone wrong yet, just because one or more people behaved like something rhyming with pass + coals.

Yes - simple solder blob to connect two adjacent solder pads.

Could that have been Alex’s inspiration?? :person_facepalming:
Might want to delete that post for others looking to ‘work the system’

Well, maybe we are that much closer to batch two. Don’t be upset, we have all waited the good part of 4 years. This lantern is worth it

I got my code but I will be waiting for the second batch. Any idea about 2nd batch? I mean when it will be started to produced? (estimate)
I hope that it isn’t risky to wait for it. I just want a more perfect light because I am a student and my budget on flashlights are very limited.

Second Question: Can we use cashback for purchases made on Aliexpress (note that after price adjustment) ? Or it doesn’t allow cashback when price adjustment happens? Anyone knows?

Please add me to list for one. Thanks.

Definite flaw. The usernames should be associated with email addresses or last names. If there’s not a match, purchase should be declined.

Quote removed,

I still stand behind my reply.

May Karma get you in the end!

I believe someone mentioned earlier that this is Sofirn’s biggest group buy to date.

No-one’s ever perfect when they’re doing something big for the first time. I trust that Sofirn will iron out the glitches, boot out the fraudsters and make sure everyone on the interest list gets their lanterns in the end. Once that’s done, Sofirn will have a lot of good experience to use in future group buys.

I’m hoping for a long-term relationship between Sofirn and BLF, ready for whatever the next BLF project turns out to be. This is all part of getting there.

We can only hope Karma gets him and any others “gaming” the system. :confounded:

Of cause. You have to connect some solder points at the battery-side of the driver.
There are 3 AMC7135 connected per channel as default and you can connect 4 more for a total of 7.
