Since I’m new to multi-battery lights, a little advice would be appreciated. Should I be avoiding unprotected cells for the LT1? Or will they be safe to use?
I hope people will get the first-batch lanterns soon. The prototype I have is really nice, and it seems batch 1 is an upgrade compared to the prototypes.
After that, it seems it might be a slow process getting batch 2 made and shipped… but it sounds like batch 2 is an upgrade too. I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
With the prototype though, I’ve been using it almost every night for months. It works well, and hardly ever needs to be charged. In particular, I use its sunset mode a lot… so I can see while getting settled in bed, and then don’t have to move to turn a light off. It just takes care of itself.
TK, that’s how I mostly use the Q8 with diffuser. I turn it on minimum intensity when it gets dark and it stays on until I get up in the morning (in case of a power outage and I need to get up to turn on the alt’ source). The LT1 will take the Q8s place and the Q8 will be used more as a flashlight. Yeah, I know there’s nothing keeping me from using it as a flashlight now, I just don’t.
Same here :+1: I have the prototype on the night table, and been running it every night testing its run times in different modes, and it has replaced my old corded night table lamp for the ability be easily found in the dark, and moved around the house when the power goes out, (which happens a lot in my area)
Unprotected should be fine as long as they’re button tops or the positive end sticks up enough above the battery to make contact with the LT ring. You can tell by laying the positive end of the battery on a flat surface and then seeing if it rocks when you move it.
I would LOVE to see it in digital camo or realtree camo.
However, if the tint is right OD green would be nice too.
Really, not enough camo lights besides some ugly chinese patterns. Not sure if camo prints are even anodised or just painted.
Can’t wait for it to arrive, black is nice too! Thanks team!
Here are the latest additions to the interest list and the links in post #1 have been updated. We’re currently at 2,956 and unless Sofirn says otherwise I will not be adding to the interest list after we hit 3,000. That means there are only 44 slots left.
Add me for another 2 or 3 of these lanterns SigShooter, only if open spots are available, but at the end of the list to make sure any new BLF members get in first before i add more.) i been showing the prototype LT1 friends & family, and they are all wanting one of these.
Cool. That’s how I’m planning to use it most of the time; basically as a lamp in my bedroom . I’ve been using an old headlamp for this purpose for almost 2 decades and am looking forward to a new solution. Unlike many of our hot-rodded flashlights, the LT1 runs the emitters low enough even at high outputs that they should last many years without degradation.
