[Info-Thread] Wurkkos FC11 - 18650 EDC, LH351D 5000K 90CRI, USB-C, magnetic tail

Oh boy. I’m excited about this light.

Please tell me this is roughly the same reflector as the WK30.

I call that the “Acme Clip”

I haven’t used any Rofis lights but no light with hold-for-cycle I’ve used has been anywhere close to fast enough to overshoot what I want. I do like how fast you can cycle them with rapid taps on tail-switch lights and the dual-switch TO50R I have though.

My thoughts…

The Good:

  • Great LED choice :+1:
  • USB-C charging? Awesome
  • Shortcut to turbo (will this work from Off?)
  • Ramping option with single click on/off
  • Below $30 including a battery :money_mouth_face:

The Bad:

  • No mention of Eco/moonlight shortcut (hold from Off would be good)
  • Hold-for-off in the stepped mode
  • Timed stepdown instead of temperature regulation: given the price point, I can forgive this. But it does make me a bit sad

looks great, looking forward to it .

I’d rather see the pocket clip captured by the tail cap so it CAN’T pop off.

Something other than black would be great, but I’m definitely interested in this.

Definitely needs to be clarified if the light will have hold for moonlight/low also. The standard for any e-switch light should be: hold for lowest mode, double click for highest mode, single click for memory.

That tends to be my preferred approach.

I’ll definitely have to check this one out!

nice stuff

Good idea. If the FC11 becomes highly demanded, this could definitely be an option in the future, e.g. military tan / "dark earth".

I will soon receive a prototype sample that I can test. So far, I was told that moonlight is not available from OFF. The good news is that Wurkkos and Sofirn are always open-minded to suggestions, so I will collate all your input together with the impressions I will get from the sample and report them back to the manufacturer. They will thoroughly check each single improvement for cost effectiveness and feasibility.

Does anyone actually use electronic lockouts in the real world? I ALWAYS use a tail cap lockout. I suspect the lack of hold for moonlight is because they’re using the “hold” UI option for the mode change which, IMHO, is dumb. I’d much rather see the quad click used for mode change and “hold” for moonlight.

Either way, this and the YLP Unicorn are very interesting lights to me as EDC and gift lights. Sadly, I probably won’t give away any Unicorns since it doesn’t have built in charging.

I use electronic lockout all the time when I’m pocket carrying an eswitch light. All my eswitch lights are Andruil so it’s easier for me to do 4 clicks with one hand than to twist the tailcap. I also have momentary when electronically locked out where a mechanically locked out light has to be “unlocked” to get any light.

Just my .02

“press and hold for 0.5 second to turn off”

That killed it for me :person_facepalming:

Update: Manuals available for download in English and German language, see post #2.

The press and hold to turn off is only in the stepped mode. In ramping mode it is the normal click on - click off.

Yes. E.g., Folomov C2 needs three clicks from off. That’s a one-handed, fast operation. I guess four clicks are ok, too ;-).

Light looks cool. Will any colors or clear ano be available on these?

Definitely not with batch #1 but I will suggest to offer more colors with next batches. Sofirn is about to launch their LT1 with great new colors, so I see a lot of potential here to offer these colors for their entire product range and even for third party brands like Wurkkos.
