Thanks to you both I did some electronics courses a very long time ago, so I’ve basically forgotten everything I ever learned…
Will buy that driver today!

Is it possible to do this with the 17mm version?
Yep, just gotta do the calculations and get the right resistor. Looks like an R010 on it, and max of 5A. Depends on how far you want to go, as to what you need:
6A total: Add an R050
7A total: Add an R025
7.5A total: Add an R020
And I don’t suggest going much further than that
I was meaning removing the NTC on the 17mm version to disable thermal management
Oops. Sorry, forgot that’s what the thread was about.
I believe this is the 17mm driver:
It’s the bigger one in that circle (at the top of it).
Thank you guys!!
The only thing that was turning me away from this driver was the overaggressive thermal throttling!
Now a way to get a bit for regulated current out of it? SWEET
Thank you!!
Just ordered one driver for my Convoy M2
I have a couple ∅17mm units right here, I can confirm the matching board layout.
Overaggressive throttling? Could you or someone else explain this a little bit better?

In what reviews I spotted of the SST40 based S21A, when you engage Turbo Mode, it almost immediately starts stepping down, pretty much negating anything useful of that mode.
I might do a runtime test of my S11 w SST40 that I’ve taken to 7.2A…

Cant wait, will do mine once resistors arrive.
Already removed NTC.
I left the NTC on…. it gets pretty hot at 7.2……

Also did S2+ M3 M21A M21B.
I’ll risk it, much improvement in output?
300-400lm I think - I’m basing it off this:
LED-Test EN Luminus SST-40-W Specialty White LED SST-40-CW-A120 UPDATE --- 06/23/18 --- raw data added! (link) This is the english version of my first test (August 2017). Because of more accurate results and some minor changes in the text the german version is no longer valid anymore! I bought this emitter at Kaidomain several months ago. Technical data Tj 85 °C, If 700 mA Order code: SST-40-CW-A120 (unless otherwise specified) Type: single…
My lumen tube isn’t quite ready
I gained around 300 lumen with an R050 on the SST40.
The FT03 is still brighter, its driven quite hard

Wow, so bad?
I have to replace the driver in my nephew's S2+, torch predominantly used with the short tube, guess I won't mess with thermal throttling in that one. The other driver, though, is another story.
Hello guys
What about the Convoy M3 driver ?
How can i remove it?
Maybe this thread helps, driver might be sonewhat different though
Not necessary, posting detailed (macro) photos will do. Removing the blueish foamy thing, might help though. Here we go - not the best macro shots in the world, but a quick one while I have a few moment being left alone I know it’s not the M3 driver, and they actually look quite a bit different, so it’s probably useless for what you’re after. https://imgur.com/a/0cqCG4U my guess would be this one can you try to measure resistance? also, try to measure wi…

The M3 has different driver, I’m not sure I find it correctly =((
