Sofirn/Volador DF10

I noticed a 18650 diving flashlight in the Sofirn store that looks handsome and very compact and has a rotary switch and a LH351D led. I think that I have not seen it before, I think it is new? I like it apart from that it seems to switch on at highest setting and it is cluttered with strobe and SOS, I hope the strobe and SOS are in the other direction and not after the brightness modes, that would be killing for convenient operation (you rotate for low and oops too far you are now in a blinding strobe) .

It is said to be $17.72 in the 11-11 sale, but is currently listed as “no longer available”. Let’s see how that evolves.

DF10 is not on stock yet. They have also listed the larger DF30 on Aliexpress. Sofirn will kindly send me a sample of the DF10 for reviewing. I'll post my impressions here as soon as possible.

Man I’ve been waiting for a rotating UI light from Sofirn for awhile. Too bad there’s strobe in the main sequence. :weary:

I have been bugging Barry for a while to make a rotating UI light with USB-charging for under 20 dollar, because Sofirn has both technologies in-house, but that was a bridge too far it seemed.

OMG, I would buy a bunch just to mod. That would be the best grandparent friendly light.

I know, that is what I told him, but I also asked for SC31-size and then he said it was too difficult for the engineers.

Seems cool. Just wish it was infinite variable. 70 lumens being the lowest is way too high.

The 11-11 sale price now changed to 19.49. A bit annoying that they changed it and the light is a bit less attractive already, not sure if I want to check it out now.

I like the emitter, I like the size and I like the rotary. Who came up with the mode spacing? 70 lumen low………………………. :person_facepalming:

They do have one, though it’s technically a “dive light”… the SD05

The SD05 does look nice. I wish it had usb-c charge so I can buy one for my grandmother

I think I’ll wait for an infinitely variable UI version, like the RRT01.

Not rotary, but the DV-S9 is infinitely variable with a slider…

Be aware, though, that lights with Hall-effect doodads naturally have high parasitic drain, 10mA or so.

Come to think of it, I never checked the SD05 or WK20 for parasitic drain. Anyone ever check the RRwhatevers?

I received the DF10 (labelled “Sofirn DF10”) and I wrote down my impressions here: Sofirn DF10, 18650 diving light with magnetic mode ring, my thoughts

lol does your grandmother go diving  usb c on a dive light? super idea lol
