Olight M2R PRO Warrior - how its made (a trip to china)

That is so true, I stopped buying Olights because they don’t offer any WW or NW tint. The H2R headlight had the best 4000K tint I’ve ever seen and it came from a XHP50.2. It was a very rosy 4000K. I just wish I knew where to get these emitters. Now they only offer CW in their lights because I guess their government/professional clients only want CW. The only Olights I still buy are their copper lights because I like copper so much. From the hundreds of flashlights I’ve came across, I can say Olight quality is definitely the highest.

Great video! Very impressive set up, the production line is very clean and efficient.

Thanks for making that, I really enjoy seeing inside factories and even better when it’s a brand I know.

thanks for the kind words!

i will have more videos like this one - my trip was eye-opening to many things...

Wow, they even use state-of-the-art cordless anti-static wristbands! (@1:40)

Yeah Olight factory are impressive… that guy from goinggear that passed away a few years ago did also a few videos when he was there, the testing of light is impressive, they do lots of different tests to make sure the light survives water, hot or cold , high drops etc etc…. so many say olight lights are expensive ,yes but their quality and how they produce them is very impressive.

I mean the reason i got into expensive lights was the s1 baton copper back then, i had some cheap ultrafire 5$ lights from dealextreme so that opened up for me that better stuff is worth the money…

the only thing i wish and not understand still is, why they dont make and offer more neutral and ww tints in their lights…

I think the main reason why they don’t offer NW and WW is because their primary customer base are government and professional users where CW is usually preferred. Flashlight enthusiasts like us probably make up less than 5% of their sales. Though I’m surprised their recent M2R Pro uses a NW emitter by default.

Yes the light temperature is important for the psychology.

Great video M4D M4X. Can you visit other manufacturers, like Convoy?

I own a couple Olight’s and find them to be tough as nails very high quality and worth there asking price. I’m getting ready to purchase the PL Pro Valkyrie in tan.

yeah i can understand that, but again when i think i cant? i mean not all their light are made for goverment and that or? they have alot of lights, not all are tactical or even good for goverment, police etc as lights …. the smaller lights should have more tint options imo…

i doubt their best sellers s1 batons and those were for goverment primarly… more like hobby enthusiasts for home etc…

Just to give them the benefit of the doubt, I suspect they all have ankle/footy anti-static thingies on. The guy you pointed out was the only one without a wristband. He prolly attaches a cord in other areas to be doubly sure…LOL!

R u gonna offer us a code max?

i just have a code for the german store only

can u ask why olight doesnst have a store for all customers in eu or something ?

I bought the Olight M2R Pro Warrior during their BF sale and I am extremely impressed. Olight is like the Apple of flashlights. Incredible built quality and feels like a high end product but does not push the limits as hard as some of the budget brands. This is the most well built, most refined flashlight I have seen to date. You just have to hold it in your hands to appreciate it. The Olight optic is also amazing in this light. It focuses the light into one large hotspot with very dim but wide spill. Although the hotspot is twice as large as similar sized lights with reflectors such as the Fenix PD36R (also an excellent light), it appears to be more intense and throws slightly farther from my visual observation, which is simply amazing. Olight’s driver efficiency is also the best out there and I’m impressed with the run time graphs I see for this light. My lumen tube also proves who stable Olight driver regulates output.

Here are some measurements I took at 2s:
Turbo, 1948 lumens, 4908K, DUV 0.0099, CRI 66.6, R9 –46, R12 36.9, Rf 66, Rg 94
2nd highest, 735 lumens, 4796K, DUV 0.0127, CRI 66.4, R9 –49.4, R12 35.3
3rd highest, 237 lumens, 4713K, DUV 0.014, CRI 66.6,

The light is rated at 1800 lumens and it’s been my experience with every Olight that they measure higher lumens than their rated spec eventhough my lumen tube calibration normally measures lower than other folks on BLF.

The only thing I don’t like about this light is the tint being too far above the BBL (positive DUV = green). Olight decided to dedome the XHP35 HD instead of using an XHP35 HI probably for the reason to obtain higher lumens from a higher bin HD emitter but dedoming results in warmer CCT and higher DUV (green). Because I’m a tint snob, I will not be EDCing this one but for those who don’t notice or are not bothered by greenish tint, this is likely the best EDC out there.

Four new Olights for me this Xmas, lol.

There seems to be many lights affected by quality reading on FB, olight already made new batch and will replace anyone who has an issue keep this in mind if any problems just warranty it.

well - a software bug can bite every device...

i think Olight did quite open communicate the possible problem and was fast offering the extended, lifetime warranty.

Jepp, they will as they showed on facebook made so u can tell if u have the new batch of the light, thats good service, they are honest and open about it and dont try to hide the problem.

nice!

did you find any info about a test to see if a unit is affected?

I found this post on Reddit. I haven’t had a chance to test this with mine yet.
