Suggest a copper flashlight for my wife

Debbie really likes my copper S2+ and wants a copper flashlight for Christmas.

I showed her the 3rd revision “Litnit” copper S2+ and she didn’t care for it. I think the name put her off more than anything.

She is tech savvy enough to deal with LiIon batteries and one of the more straight forward UIs like 3/5 mode or biscotti. She doesn’t want to spend the time to learn to use more complicated firmware.

It needs to be good looking. I think the copper MF01 is out because of Anduril. I’d also like to stay away from anything larger than an 18650.

Any suggestions?

Get the new S2+ but get the short tube. It doesn’t have the branding. Simon could probably make a custom order. There is no knurling but it is gorgeous and simple.

Good idea. I’ll put that on the maybe list. I’d need to get some short batteries but that isn’t too hard.

Is she ok with the general size/weight of the S2+?

If smaller AA/AAA lights are an option, I think Reylight makes some of the most attractive brass and copper lights. If I’m not mistaken they can all run on the 10440/14500 lithium batts as well. Simple twist UI with good mode spacing and pleasent emitters.

A Maratac copper aaa or aa are very nice lights. Simple, small and dependable.

Yes but that is the upper limit. AA is fine too as long as it compatible with rechargeable batteries and the UI isn’t M-L-H. 14500 compatibly would be a plus.

MF01 mini in copper is too big and probably too heavy.

Look at the Acebeam TK16 copper too.

The CU Tool w eSwitch is Copper, LMH and available in High CRI

the clip can be upgraded to the Preon 2 captive clip (on the right):

There are also several Copper Olights, none are High CRI, and many are at scalper prices on the bay. They are LMH but have last mode memory.

maybe olight i3t copper?

I got one of those when it was on special recently and it is a beautiful and quality light.

Massdrop/Drop has a copper light called the Path. It’s pretty simple and runs on 1 or 2 CR123/16340s. I just grabbed one for my wife.

I got $20 off for setting up an account although I had bought stuff from them in the past.

$60 is the regular price. We’ll see how it is when it arrives but it seems promising.

I like the way the patina is coming along on this one!

good info
unfortunately, for me, the lowest mode is 30 lumens

another copper 16340 option
KLARUS Mi1C Copper

I wouldn’t go for the 30 lumen low but it’ll be fine for the wife.

Sold out at Banggood. I’ll do some looking around.

Lovely looking. STD or Li-Po /Li Ion Battery
Olight I3T copper.
Anything bigger.
Go the C8.

The shorty S2+ with a nice WW emitter would be awesomely “retro”…

I got one in orange (“fake copper”), and it’s niiiiiiice.

Yeah, this.

Or the Olight S1R Baton II Cu if she doesn’t want to swap batteries and don’t mind a CW tint.

Both these lights are small, relatively light, powerful, and have a simple yet good UI.

C8 Copper is too big and too heavy. S2+ is the upper limit.

I’ll look at your other suggestions.

Astrolux MF01 Mini
Fireflies E07 maybe?
