Olight i3 UV EOS, interesting.. UV light with TIR!

I find this little guy very interesting. I have tried a TIR on the S2 with a UV led and found it blocked most UV light. So, it appears that Olight has found a way around this!
i3 UV EOS

Pmma blocks 365nm UV but passes 395 / 405, no magic involved…

Ah, mine is 365nm! I just assumed that it blocked all the frequencies in that general range.

They’re also doing a promo tomorrow where they’re donating (sales/profit?) from that light to a worthy individual.

There are optics for 365nm with another plastic compound
PLEXIGLAS® XT 0A770 for example

The funny thing is the longer it is exposed to UV the more it transmits

Apologies for the remedial question but what is the purpose of a UV flashlight other than using dye to find leaks to the UV curing epoxy?

if u travel or so it could be handy inspect bed, bathrooms etc for hidden filth….

even your own home u can be suprised how much crap is hidden…

u can also have fun in the dark shining up white stuff will be lit like a xmas tree

also its a fun thing since the wavelength is special but u gotta be careful with it not shine it in your eyes…

Also counterfeited money detection

oui.

thanks for making me aware of the olight 395nm, and that it works through a TiR

I specifically wanted 365nm so I bought the Jetbeam

My polycarbonate glasses do block my 365nm,

I believe one practical difference, when checking for counterfeit US paper money, is the 395nm wont light up the red line on a US$100, the 365nm will
395nm does work on the other US bills that have other colored bars

The Olight is smaller than the Jetbeam, both use AAA Eneloop or primary.
