Flashlight + COB

I posted this in the AA section but I’m also open to 18650 suggestion.

I’m looking for a light like this

Obviously I have no problem finding one as Aliexpress has many. In fact I already own one
I’m looking for something less crappy with decent output.

For my purposes a Lumintop Tool 2.0 AA is a great light with great brightness. (not looking for a pocket rocket)
Compact, good output, good quality, no gimmick interface.
So… basically I’m looking for a Tool with COB.
I know it doesn’t exist but just to explain what I’m after. Well I hope

EDIT
While many on this forum are brightness adicts, I’m an effiency adict
So good lumen/watt is a selling point for me.
Did I mention I’m stingy? Below $30 would be great.

Slightly over budget, but: Lumintop EDC05C. Probably codes out there to bring it under $30.

Overal that light looks very nice. The tailcap I like far less. It makes swapping a cell ‘problematic’.

The flashlight has direct charging via Micro USB.

I bought four of these last year as stocking stuffers but they arrived a few days too late for the event I wanted them for. Ordered 12/1 arrived 12/20, a few days before Christmas. Operates on 3 AAA batteries. Plenty bright. 10 LED COB on the side. I paid $5.08 for four of them. I’m not into modding flashlights so that is not an issue. magnetic base, side switch, decent plastic case. 3 colors

Information on eBay $1.99 for 1 or $1.77 each for ordering four. Postpaid. “COB LED Pocket Pen Lights Inspection Work Lights Magnetic Torch Flashlight AAA”

Yes, they are cheap but for this price they are remarkably good.

Can you guestimate the output?

166mm is about twice as long as I’m looking for. But a friend of mine somehow loves burning AAA’s so’ll get some for his stocking (if brighness is ok)
Thanks for the hint.

@Petr J.

I’ve seen that. It’s handy and all I need in most cases. Sometimes it’s just handy to quickly swap a cell.

I have the SkyWolfEyes. It looks like the same one you posted, and about the same price.

From an economic point of view your best upgrade is a rechargeable NiMH. At a penny per use, it is hard to justify buying even a $15 light. But this is BLF, right? Crappy lights and screwy UI drive us nuts.

Is the secondary LED required? If not, you might look at Nebo - Larry, Little Larry or Slim.

This might be an option. It comes with a 26650 and can take a 18650 with an adapter. I do not have this Supfire light but I do have others and they seen to be made fairly well.
