Pair of Quark 2AA-Xes, 78bux each when discontinued. My first “real” lights…
Such a horribly green beam that I don’t even use ’em in rotation anymore, so they’re just languishing. You could go hawg-hunting with such a green beam. Yecch.
Most expensive so far is the copper astrolux c8 at $50. When the noctigon k1 releases it will be more and I’ll probably get that, then it’ll be my highest.
$99 (£80) for an L16. SOLD it at £54 recently. It’s nice but was not worth it to me personally. Also bought an MF01 and MF01S for about $79 each. Not expensive for what they are though. Oh yh also an NI40 SBT90 for $78 with the battery.
Did you buy this when you had know idea what you was doing and probably thought a maglite was super bright? or just thought u know what…lemme take a stupid risk.
I bought it quite a few years ago when the most powerful led torches were still well under 1000 lumens, thinking back it was around the same time the Fenix Pd30 came out (which i paid 50 bucks for) 2012 ish i think
I got the pair the 85w & 35w spare pack for each and it was quite a lot of money… by todays standards they are a joke!
I have a few Reylights inbound. Most I’ve paid for flashlights. I use to have a hard $50 dollar limit. Apparently I threw that out the window. I just don’t buy as many lights as I use to so, spending the extra money for fancy lights isn’t really costing any more. I don’t buy just any light that comes along now. All my lights are exactly the way I wan’t them now. I have no need to buy stock lights just so I can work on them. So, it takes a special light to open my wallet.
There are no classifications of lights that I do not like.
I have stayed with (mostly the larger) lights offered under recognized good quality Chinese brand names, because they offer beam performance and beam profile that I am interested in.
As the lumen race has progressed in the past few years, so has the upper price limit that I have set for myself.
I have not yet gotten bitten by the smaller size "jewellery class" light bug, nor the upper-end American mid-size edc light bug, nor the entry-level Chinese class of lights. That does not mean that I think there is something not right with any of them. I know that my light life, which is the light of my physical life, would be vastly widened if I got bitten by their bug, but so far, not yet.
