Expensive light(s) you purchased?

LOL you have to love Ching’glish

Olight x9r

Hands shaking I need a meeting

I have a few Reylights inbound. Most I’ve paid for flashlights. I use to have a hard $50 dollar limit. Apparently I threw that out the window. I just don’t buy as many lights as I use to so, spending the extra money for fancy lights isn’t really costing any more. I don’t buy just any light that comes along now. All my lights are exactly the way I wan’t them now. I have no need to buy stock lights just so I can work on them. So, it takes a special light to open my wallet.

Have no clue. I just looked at the dimensions of the cell 44 x 245mm.

I have a D4Ti in the mail I got it @74 bucks with options. So far this is the most expensive light I’ve bought.

Q. "Expensive light(s) you purchased?"

A. Yes, they have I.

There are no classifications of lights that I do not like.

I have stayed with (mostly the larger) lights offered under recognized good quality Chinese brand names, because they offer beam performance and beam profile that I am interested in.

As the lumen race has progressed in the past few years, so has the upper price limit that I have set for myself.

I have not yet gotten bitten by the smaller size "jewellery class" light bug, nor the upper-end American mid-size edc light bug, nor the entry-level Chinese class of lights. That does not mean that I think there is something not right with any of them. I know that my light life, which is the light of my physical life, would be vastly widened if I got bitten by their bug, but so far, not yet.

Bought Surefire U2 long time ago.
Still have and use it.
Mike

$600-Deft-X. That was in 2013. Sold it for $550

Must be my Olight X7Marauder, I payed 140 dollar. I changed the leds to warm XHP70’s. It never gets use because the Q8 does it better; a bit less output but way throwier, the X7 is pure flood.

Mateminco MT70 Plus, paid way too much for it, $230 usd because I wanted the green one. Except for twice when I tested it, it has been sitting on my shelf since I got it. It was my last expensive light. Not paying more than $30 for anything anymore after I recently got my MF01S.

Well, my most expensive light was the RovyVon E300s Angel Eyes!

Why? ’Cause I paid 72,77€ for the light + shipping (DHL) and I paid 65,05€ to release it from Customs :person_facepalming:

End of story: 137,82€ on that flashlight…

whoa, custom almost the price of the light.

K75
2 x W30
Marinebeam which was a waste of money, the light is a pile of shit, it was not collimated properly. But i did buy it for the collar which is glued onto the pill and couldnt get it off. So i made one from a 50mm stainless steel dome endcap.

My first was 11+ years ago. The Eagle Eye. 35W HID 13.2V, almost 400.00 and it still works with the same giant 43mm x 178mm tubular cell. Thrunite NT40S 200.00 Olight X7 Marauder 200.00, Just bought last week, the Acebeam X45 on Amazon for 216.00, Streamlight TLR-2 at Cabela’s for a whopping 330.00+ that is a paper weight now, OUCH! and my Acebeam L30 122.00. My other 30 something torches range between 40.00 to 100.00. I still own a Surefire Scorpion with the rubber body sleeve and double 123A’s that was like 60.00 dollars when it first came out back in the day. LOl, My Sofirn SP10B puts the Surefire to sham in light output. Can’t wait to see what torches are like in 5 years!

My most expensive light with custom LEDs modded in: D4V2 Ti

My most expensive stock light: FW3Ti+Cu

I spent over $200.00 on a few FW3Xs and never even received all my items. Of what I did get, two items arrived broken. On top of all that, only one flashlight works without bugging out; but only because I tightened everything up first. So, one working FW3A cost over $200.00, plus finding the right tool to tighten loose retaining rings, plus the time to troubleshoot. That’s got to be a record.

DX80 $200+ :person_facepalming:

Reylight TiLan with trits $150
Reylight TiDawn with trits $230
Foursevens TiBolt $250

I have a few other lights but paid less than $75 for each of them. The majority of lights I own are titanium though.

£112.95 (about $190 at the time) for a Fenix TK41 in 2014 (before I was on CPF or BLF - hard to imagine!)

Expensive and cool white, but it’s still sitting on my desk with 8 Duraloops in it. I never use it nowadays - it’s been superseded twice over by a custom Convoy X3 and then a stock Convoy L4 - but I like knowing there’s a bright, throwy light that runs at full power for ages on AAs (it also runs on 4 cells at a pinch). It’s done ceiling-bounce power cut duty several times, too.

Ouch. You are a dedicated man my friend.
