Best Muggle Headlamp

Looking to purchase a few muggle friendly headlamps this season. Wanting something decently bright, 700+ lumens. Lithum rechargeables ok. Just don’t want the UI too complicated or the headlight excessively heavy.
Budget: $75 but open to other suggestions.

Sofirn sp40, usb charging, simple ui, includes bat

The Wowtac A2S and Sofirn SP40 are both pretty solid options. The Armytek Elf C2 is a bit higher-end and has a more efficient driver, but I’d argue the UI is a little more clunky.

D25? I like ’em.

non-zoomy-Single or double LED Version, doesn’t matter, they are both great for the little money.
But please don’t buy the battery with them and get a protected brand cell

How about the Armytek Wizard Pro V3? I’ve heard good things about it. Opinions anyone? What’s the UI like?

Has armytek improved their reliability issues?

Do a simple search for “armytek warranty” and other such words and youll some quite intesting experiences

I like the Wizard Pro, and Armytek did mention plans for a Nichia 144A version by the end of the year. Its UI is a bit on the complex side though, and it will remember blinky modes in the even the user manages to get to one via a quad-click.

I haven’t seen many failure reports about the Wizard Pro after the revision with the cooling fins. Warranty service may also be a bit better now that they have warehouses in the US and Germany, but I’m not sure if anybody has verified that recently.

When did they add the cooling fins?

A lot of these “warranty experiences” are from the last year or two :open_mouth:

OK, never mind on the Wizard Pro. Sounds like Sofirn is probably the way to go.

How about the Thrunite TH20 and Acebeam H40? Both VERY similar with a nod to Acebeam for quality finish, though I actually prefer the Thrunite’s beam. Both have an easily learned ramping UI with double-tap for turbo and hold of moonlight options. I have a Wizard Pro that sees more use these days, but the UI is a bit much for many people. Single, double and triple clicks, hold for mode changes, etc.

I mostly don’t like AA for muggles because they have a tendency to run alkalines. The current draw from both of those headlamps is around 2A on max, which is way too much for an alkaline. Alkalines tend to leak even when they haven’t been abused, and then you may have a ruined headlamp.

Li-ion and USB charging tends to be easy mode for most people.

Imalent HR20 - Turn on, rotary dial for light intensity. That is a simple UI.

I have had 3 Partner C1’s and a few of the side switch ones. Forget the model number. Haven’t had any reliability issues. I have beaten the Partner’s pretty bad but they still keep on going. After I got the ones I have the shipping went through the roof. Not sure if it still is.
