New to flashlights.

Hello everyone,

I am new to the flashlight scene. The gateway into my torch addiction was a Harbor Freight Quantum 588 lumen flashlight. I paid around $12 for it with a coupon. The Quantum was so bright for its size it blew my mind, having used Maglites for decades. On a side note; a Harbor Freight EDC folding knife was my gate way into EDC knives, too.

In the past few months I have purchased:
Wowtac BSS V3
Sofirn SP33
Sofirn C8f
Fenix PD36R
Sofirn SP32A V2.0
Quantum 588 Lumens

Welcome, I am pretty new - too… And holy hell is this a fun hobby. Enjoy !

It looks like it’s time for you to explore higher realms… The SP36 BLF and Astrolux EC01 are good places to start. Or, you could go the other way with BLF A6 / Astrolux S1 and Convoy S2+….

All you have to do is learn to love forgetting that you ordered something by the time it shows up.

Have a pleasant time at this friendly forum, Swabs!

“Budget”lightforums is failing badly at what its supposed to do …

Keep folks on a budget

Hey! There is still a budget, it’s just a big budget!

This is a great start. My first powerful flashlight was SKYRAY King. I think I’m crazy a bit, today I have more than a hundred pieces of flashlights

BIGBUDGETlightforums.com ?

Time to update the name :stuck_out_tongue:

Sounds naughty

EDIT:
Totally forgot… Welcome Swabs! Hope you enjoy your stay, we’re glad to have you here.

Again, Budget is subjective. Too expensive? Don’t buy it.

Tooexpensivebudgetlightforums?

welcome to BLF !

The budget thing is different for everyone
I admit, i’m a cheapass as well, but it seems that every new light is more expensive.
I remember the groupbuy price of the BLF Q8, man, i’m getting old :person_facepalming:

Fixed that for ya.

Cant be a flashholic with only ONE light

Why one might have to use that light all the time and wear off the anodizing :stuck_out_tongue:

By extension, if a light is not too expensive, you’ve already purchased more than one.

Then, after a while, you’ll either buy one of another “too expensive” light, or another of the one you only have one of.

It’s a process.
It works.
All it needs is patience.

I will look into these torches on AlieExpress’ 11-11 sale. LOL the shipping time from AlieExpress, worst is Drop, com, though. Thank you for the suggestions.

The new Sofirn SP33 V3 is on my radar, as well.

Welcome to the Budget Light Forum Swabs.

Thank you all, it’s great to be here.

I've always said it's easy to make a light bright ...

a good low is another thing .
