New WildTrail (former LuckSun) BLF-D80v2 Sale is open.

That would be a great addition to a great light.

The lighted tail is a nice idea, I will have a go too. Not straightforward is that the tail cover is 12mm instead of the common 14mm or 16mm, and I have not found a clear one anywhere. I did find orange on aliexpress and that works nice at least with red tail leds.

There is less space in the tailcap as well due to the use of the large Omten switch rather than the small one, this also creates a slightly different layout.

A heads up to anyone using a protected battery- check the length. With a keeppower 3500mah 1865J when tighten down the tail cap the springs bottom out and the tail switch retaining ring bites into the battery and splits the wrap

I will post pictures when I get a chance.

I have large switch hole for Convoy L6 and one between the 1288 and big L6 switch

But so far I have no D80v2 to take measurements if one and which fits

Is it possible to get this in no-ano still if you missed out on the sign up list?

I just asked Jacky. I will get back to you a.s.a.p..

Update: Jacky said he didn’t have any no-ano version left. It’s sold out.

I would definitely be interested in buying more no ano lights. They were real popular luckyson is missing out on good sale potential.

Please check the next flashlight project, WildTrail is about the run on BLF:

Thanks lux-perpetua, unfortunately that’s a totally different design.

Lux-P, do you have any insight how well the D80V2 is selling? Has their cooperation with Docc and BLF been succesful?

I hope it has been successful, and assume it has, since there seems to be interest in more models.

According to WildTrail it has been successful. Of course, they hope that demand will increase a bit in time, looking onto upcoming discounts for the 11/11 sale.

The D80v2 has become one of my favorite lights for night hikes, second only to the Convoy L6. The D80v2 has the advantage of being much smaller and easier to fit in a jacket pocket.

I love that even on the lower modes, the beam reaches way out but still has a usable hotspot size. I can keep my eyes adjusted for the night but still see very far up the trail in front of me.

This light is a keeper for sure.

no time to read the whole thread. Does the sst40 have any green in the beam? Are they about the same in throw and how far?

Thanks for any responses.

The SST40 has a bit of a green tint in the lower regulated modes. The tint shift is quite large as you step up to higher modes. On high/turbo it appears quite a bit cooler and less green.

Honestly, you can never be 100% sure of what tint you might get, and of course, how your eyes see it, but I have two of these, and both are a very nice neutral tint, not greenish.

What is a realistic throw

I was out walking around the rim of a large detention pond the other night and tracking varmints in the grassy bottom. I'd say 1000' is realistic.

I really appreciate you checking for me. Bummer I missed another raw BLF edition, any hope for a second batch? Looks like I’m off to hunt for this one in the marketplace.
