Just wondering, are you sure the price was different or could it be currency fluctuation? I think the prices might be set in USD, and if you are viewing in another currency, they will change based on the exchange rate. Since you list your location as Amsterdam maybe that’s a factor.

While there may be some special discounts in sales (a few cents there and here), don't expect this to be the rule. Some sellers raise the price of their stuff days before the sale, then lower it again while on sale period. When sellers do this usually the price doesn't gets any lower, but they do it to lure unaware people. In the eyes of those who are aware this is a moot point. I don't endorse these leg-pulls, of course. 
There’s laws against that kind of thing in a lot of countries - I sincerely hope Sofirn doesn’t engage in that. I’d rather see a lower % off than an inflated % based off a jacked-up price.
I’ll base that off the USD price, and not AUD, as I know currency variations are fluid.

Everyday is a sale day on AliExpress. ;-)
But only during sales there are the general ‘red’ Aliexpress Coupons and the 5$ off 65$ select coupons. This is why I prefer to buy during sales, not because of the slightly lower price in some shops.
The general Aliexpress coupons (those are the red ones, select coupons are white with red margin) can be used also in shops that don’t participate in the sales.

Agreed. The 11.11 prices essentially bring it back almost in line with the previous perpetual sale prices, and applying coupons makes it just about equal. Nothing special…

AliExpress Select Coupons? I think I have never used them. My balance is now €36.84, or equal to 4x 11.11 coupons. LoL! :-D

I think what Jackie is saying is that 11.11 is the best price because you can use the coupons. Then the total cost is lower.
Without using the coupons, the price is not the best.
So if your not familiar with the coupons, of course the price looks high. Same for BLF related group buy codes. If you go buy a new light without the code the price looks higher. You have to know all the tricks to get the lowest price.
You have to use the 5$ off 65$ select coupons, the 1$ or 2$ shop coupons and a red Aliexpress coupon if you have. Then the price will rock. Sofirn’s Aliexpress store and some other stores allow you to use them all together.
It’s still very poor form to raise the price from (all prices USD) 48.99 to 61.24 (25% increase), and then advertise an 11:11 sale price of 40.42 (33% off, save $20.82) - when it’s more like 48.99 to 40.24 (~17.5% off, save $8.57).
While I don’t disagree that it’s still a nice drop from the average price, it’s nowhere near as large a saving as advertised, due to the immediately-before price jump. I know that laws in other countries don’t apply to AliExpress, but there’s definitely consumer laws against this in a lot of countries due to misrepresentation. Example here: Price displays | ACCC
I’m just disappointed that Sofirn has chosen to do so, when other brands have not. I’d be lying if I said my trust in them hasn’t been shaken.
