[Sale] WildTrail BLF D80 V2 with XHP50.2 - limited quantity

Thanks. Do you know where to find Dale’s review, or is it still in the works?

I don't think there is a review yet and I'm not sure if he is up to creating one. I was only told that Dale did some testing. Maybe he will be so kind to chime in and tell us more about it.

I know it is a bit of overkill, and I love the sst-40, but this is the emitter I was originally hoping for. I just wonder if it is too many amps to be practical.

Very interesting

Anyone know what happened to Docc?

I’m not that interested in the XHP50.2 because the tint shift sucks. I rather see a 21700 tube offered for the light since the tube diameter is already larger than many 21700 lights. The 21700 will allow the light to hold its output much better throughout the discharge curve.

I don't dare making any assumptions and I thought long and hard before putting down these lines.

The last time I had contact on Skype with him was September 11, 2019. From that day on the contact broke off completely, i.e. he did not appear on TLF, BLF or Skype ever since. Jacky Zhang (LuckySun/WildTrail) also lost contact with him. :-( Before he disappeared, the Docc told us here on the BLF D80 V2 thread that his mother was expecting a difficult medical operation. In that same time he informed me that he suffered from serious health issues that I don't want disclose in detail for the sake of his privacy. Whatever happened to him, let's put our best hopes in a speedy recovery for him and his mother and that eventually he will show up again on BLF someday.

Oh man, I’m wishing him and his mom will be well soon. Hoping he will show back up on BLF in the future.

Jeez. I am sending all of my best, I hope all is well, and that he can get back to us soon.

Are the springs bypassed on this? I was wondering how the switch would handle the amperage.

So, if someone did need a replacement switch, is it a standard model or proprietary to this manufacturer?

Another good question. I wish we had more info.

I have asked Jacky today. He will check with the factory to tell me the exact brand and component number.

Regarding the springs, all three versions are made the same way, i.e. no spring bypasses.

Please find below a beamshot comparison of all three WildTrail D80 V2 versions.

Ordered one

If I didn't already have the SST-40 version, I would be all over this.

Ordered!

Thanks!!

I just took mine apart. It’s an Omten switch, but not the usual white one I see. It’s black, 12x17x10mm It’s got a “3” on the plunger, and an “A” on the body. It also says “PBS-101C” on the switch body itself. The 101C-400 is a switch model that matches dimensionally and is rated 30V 1A, but the markings don’t match up 100%. It certainly feels different than any of the other Omten switches I’ve used, with very little mush at the beginning of travel and a very crisp actuation.

Btw, Neal and Jacky of Wild Trail are good friends and Neal would like to help Jacky sell more of his lights to people who prefers to use Paypal, in which Neal’s store use and accept, hence, this post:

The new BLF D80V2 with XHP50.2 emitter is also now available using the the same coupon: $27.70 using coupon ndd80v2

The lantern received. :rage:

There is no enthusiasm as from the version with SST-40.
The hot spot, even in comparison with the standard C8 reflector with XHP50.2 installed, is poor, blurry and sins with artifacts … :student:

But one question was born:

- Of course, I understand the antiquity of Chinese civilization.
And then the exquisite cruelty of wrapping a beautiful box in a nasty yellow scotch tape begins to acquire its legitimate confirmation …… :smiling_imp:

I’m joking of course, but the desire to make a flashgolic waiting for a parcel, carefully carry out a surgical operation to get rid of the packaging for half an hour is akin to medieval execution! :innocent:

Does someone know the candela ratings for each of the 3 emitters? I can’t find this info anywhere….thanks
