What's not to like?

For me it’s strobe, zoom, difficult UIs, ridiculous lumen claims, over-priced lights and cheap knock-offs.
You have any peeves?

SST-4000k lights that look like you lit up a lime (looking at you MF01 Mini!)
Waiting for deliveries from China

What do you mean by 4000? 4000k?

yes - updated my post.

I’ve gotten quite used to my MF01S 4000k. Still looks a bit yellow but not as bad as when I first got it. Now my 219C MF01 looks slightly coolish. I guess 4500k is perfect.

What’s not to like?

1) Cold toilet seats
2) Dentist chairs
3) Trips to the DMV

I agree…waiting for lights to arrive from China

and my biggest peeve…

Thinking I have the perfect array of lights, then coming here and realizing I want more! haha

I have converted all of my "don't likes" into feelings.

Number one: I feel sad that the general population is not excited enough about flashlights to take the effort to investigate what exciting items are waiting for them to be discovered.

Next are things that I have not gotten bitten by their bug, yet. Things that are not bad, not good, for me, yet: The most expensive and the least expensive lights. It's not that I don't like them, it's just that I am not yet excited about them, such as small lights with jewelry price tags.

I don't have any specific peeves. I am not disappointed with any of the vast arrays of interfaces, types of switches/locations, modes, finishes.

Mode spacing may be my biggest pet peeve, but it is still a very small matter for me that is not important.

Lights that dont get used and collect dust

richbuff,

Yeah, I am pretty bummed that the general public is so unaware of what is available and generally don’t care. A flashaholic can buy a really nice (but affordable) light for a friend or family member and hey just kind of look at the light like, “ummm, that is nice…I guess.”

They see a flashlight, I see a work of art (and science)

Summer

Dishonest sellers / makers. There are far too many.
Bad UIs.
Low CRI.
Glued / potted lights (unless explicitly requested)

Fake Cree leds.
Spam.
Next mode memory.
Trolls.

• “Made In ’MURICA” as an excuse for subpar performance like low lumen count, pathetic runtimes and inability to use rechargeable cells. Actually, any and all “Made In ’MURICA”, full stop.

• 16340 batteries. The capacity on them is plain stupid. I haven’t tried an 18350 torch yet, but apparently they don’t have anywhere near this bad a problem, so point from me.

• Press-and-hold to turn on or off on anything that isn’t a headlamp or bicycle headlight - instant dealbreaker and why I’m not buying a Manker for the foreseeable future. The Lumintop B01 is the latter category, so I tolerate it when it’s off the mount, but not by much.

• Donut holes. One reason why I despise Mag-lite. We’ve had the technology to make smooth even beams for decades, they have absolutely no excuse. Then again, see bullet point number 1.

• The blink-on-Low of the old 3/5 Convoy firmware. That one tilted me way more than it rationally should. Biscotti was a true godsend.

• In the same vein, ON-time mode memory. I use my lights in quick flashes far too often to accept any kind of NMM, even if conditional.

• Lack of a 10-50lm Low mode, the mode I use the most by far. <1lm moonlight is appreciated but not required, Low mode is indispensable.

It may sound surprising, but 6500K cool white non-high CRI is not on this list… as long as it doesn’t have any green or purple tint shifts.
