I recently saw a Meidong model that was substantially discounted on Vipon. I could not find any reliable reviews on this brand so I am wondering if it or any other low budget brand has good sound and build quality? Thanks .

I’ve recommended both to friends who never bought Bluetooth speakers, and they absolutely loved them.
They are a good investment, since if their battery dies, you can just stick in a new soldered battery/battery holder in nicely and easily.

When on sale for $40, JBL Clip 3. That might be higher budget than you want, but I have never come across a better portable outdoor speaker for it’s size.
BlueswordM, those choices look like just what I was looking for. Something for campfires and small parties. By rights, the T2 should sound better with 20 watts, but sound quality is more than just pure power. Have you heard both and which would you pick?

@pennzy, there’s literally no difference between them.
From what I can tell, the T2 measures its power output as its absolute peak, while the SoundCore 2 measures power output as its average peak.
Volume is still stupid loud on max.
Sound quality is about the same if played from Bluetooth.
However, since the T2 has a microSD card slot with FLAC/high quality MP3 support, it can actually, and actually does, sound better than when played locally on your phone.
Basically, if you want maximum battery life, go with the SoundCore 2.
If you want more features and slighty better sound quality when played from the microSD card, get the T2.
It’s not the typical cylinder or rectangle style, but I got a couple of SyrenPros recently and it sounds very good with just a single speaker running. Pairing a second one gives you true stereo and even more overall volume. I haven’t come across any other outdoor, wireless battery / AC powered speaker that comes close to this price with comparable sound quality.

The t2 just went on ale as we speak.
It runs on AC power with the battery as backup for when you need to go completely portable. I guess I was thinking more backyard party than a beach party.

I would stay away from JBL as there are a lot of clones which are not so good.
I can recommend Chinese manufacturer Mifa - I own model A10 which is exceptional for my needs. There are a lot of reviews on internet about this model.
As far as capacity goes, these days is very hard to find some honest mah battery readings. My own preference is buying an 4x18650 DIY empty power-bank and filling it up with LG INR18650-MJ1 or similar high capacity cheap cells. So total true 14000 mah power-bank comes with cost of less than 20€.

I went to a Youtube channel called oluv’s gadgets. He has a data base with a lot of various wireless speakers that can be compared for sound. In the budget category he is a huge fan of the Tribit Maxsound Plus. Right now it can be had for $40 with coupons on Amazon. Here he compares it to a Tronsmart Element Force.
I have this. Used to be $99.00, I got mine for $69.00. Lowest I’ve seen was $59.00.
How she sound? Would you buy it again? Run time good?
Deep bass, neutral clear sounding mids and highs, not shrill, sharp, or tinny sounding.

It used to have a buzzing speaker grill problem when it first came out, mine never had that issue.
Doss resolved that problem with the later and current ones being sent out.
I would buy it again in a heartbeat.
Just found out clavinetjunkie is oluv. 
I’d like to add a little more insight into the sound, if you like boosted highs, this is not the speaker for you.
You may even say that the sound is dull compared to other speakers out there.
I like speakers with highs that deliver a natural clarity with just enough shimmer and sparkle.
For me that type of sound is non fatiguing and you can listen to it louder and longer without it being harsh sounding.
If you find yourself reaching for the volume and turning it down because the highs are going through your ears like a ice pick you know what I’m saying.
I would also like to say that I just found out that the price briefly went down to $45.00 on the last Amazon Prime Day. Now that’s a deal.
