[M4D deal] Nightwatch NI40 with Luminus SBT90 Gen2 interest list OPEN

He said he’ll receive them this week and they’ll also ship the same week. Mine hasn’t shipped yet though. Someone above said the stock is supposed to arrive on Monday which is 3 days ago. I did message him yesterday asking if I’ll receive a tracking number when it’s shipped to which he said yes. Tried emailing him a few days ago. Didn’t work. I only message him on FB now. Sometimes he doesn’t reply but these last few days he’s been replying pretty quickly.

Thanks. I will just wait. You can be “Our” Informant.

Got mine! shockli black 5500 only around 16A (battery was not full).

2.5m to the wall. All on max. D80v2 SST-40, GT mini XP-L HI, M21A CULNM1.TG (6A), NI40 SBT90-2:

Album with all pictures

Thanks

Why would you test it with a battery that is not fully charged?!

Nice. I would love to see that same pic with all the lights fully charged.

Neal said he’s received 20 pcs. Mine will ship today. Yay! I think he also said he will receive the rest of them this week.

Update:

I measured 17A max. Other also report not the best performance with shockli black.

Lux at 6.7m:

  • D80v2: 1289 (58 kcd)
  • GT mini: 2151 (96 kcd)
  • M21A: 5025 (225 kcd)
  • NI40: 4124 (185 kcd)

Ceiling bounce:

  • D80v2: 247
  • GT mini: 148
  • M21A: 116
  • NI40: 525
  • NI40 on high: 253

Low performance of GT mini in my case is probably caused by springs, because sometimes I use longer cells with integrated charging in GT mini. The measurement was taken with VC6 and it resulted with reduced springs tension.

Mine shipped yesterday, November 17, 2019. :sunglasses:

Support from Neal is inadequate or actually almost zero.
No answer for emails(for weeks) also no reaction for chat inquiries at nealsgadgets…

I am glad that it shipped. However, almost 1 month [initial email, sent Two]with UNANSWERED questions is UNACCEPTABLE. The questions had nothing to do with shipment, it was a question about conflicting information regarding step down listed on his website and what a user experienced.

If he was a dealer in USA he would be out of business! I am not alone in the frustration regarding his inability to respond to his customers. We should not have to chase him on FB or wherever else he can be contacted.

I hope the light never has an issue. If so, I expect nothing after this experience.

Mine still hasn’t even shipped.

I don’t know why I’m ordering from Neal as the last order was a PL47G2 from him and I waited 38 days for it (to just be shipped) and it came w/ massive problems (like the head/optics being misaligned, and the rubber o-ring falling into middle of the optic and sticking there, causing beam artifacts. Sounds like he picked out the factory-seconds and mailed those out. I guess I really wanted a SB90.2 light. But now the FT03 is gonna come out w/ a SB90.2 light I might just cancel and wait for that.

How do you enter the turbo on NI40 with SBT90.2?? Instructions says double click. I have been messing with it for 15 minutes and still can’t figure out from which mode double click turns on the turbo. Was able to access it a few times though
Does anyone know?

People on TLF are saying you have to take the rubber out and shorten it by 1mm to get the switch to function properly. Nightwatch NI40 mit Luminus SBT90 Gen.2 | Taschenlampen Forum

Wow……

Interested

Unbelievable! Great quality control! Does not sound like an isolated incident, more like a defect.

I think I will sell the light to my cousin Otto just for the LED.

It’s pretty easy to fix but yh it shouldn’t come like that from the factory.

What do you mean when you say we have to “take the rubber out?”,The rubber boot off the switch? A rubber o’ring or something within the switch?

The rubber that covers the switch. It seems like what they’re saying is cut 1mm of the inside part of the rubber that touches the switch.

This is the quote from Duke on TLF:
I shortened the Nubsie in the switch rubber by ~ 1mm, which was too tight for me.
Now it’s better

Have no idea what a Nubsie is. Googled it and it doesn’t seem to be a word in English or german. Well there’s no translation anyway. Maybe it’s a spelling mistake.

Exactly, I pointed out this problem to them on 11/3/19 on Post # 152 before the 2nd batch was sent out.
I have yet to hear a response. In the mean time, I’ve been reading some comments that Neal doesn’t answer his emails.
You need to contact him through FB, but he may or may not reply. I find that a little disturbing.
What’s going to happen if you get a defective unit and you need to get the issue resolved.
If someone doesn’t respond to a inquiry that would lead to a potential sale, I would think it would be a nightmare if you need to make some sort of claim for a replacement or refund.
