I replied to them numerous times as well as sent a new PM and they have not responded. Has anybody requested and received a replacement code for a lantern + battery order and been sent the requested code? I’m trying to figure out if I should just order the bare lantern before something else happens in this process or continue to wait for a new code, if they are even sending them.
It seems like paying the $62 for lantern + batteries is a good deal and I need the cells.
I got the same message. I replied back and asked for the code for with batteries and got it the next day. China is on opposite time from us. Minimum 24 hour turn around on replies.
Agreed. 62 seems like a great deal for LT1 and batteries. I am excited.
If anyone is going to be doing that service you need to throw at least 10. I think that worst case scenario they are like 10c each so its a buck
Those suckers have talent to disappear. Can’t tell you how times I peeled one from the reel grabbed it with the tweezer and poing, off into the rhubarb, never to be seen again. Not to say that they can break apart or the solder pads get rip off if you heat them up.
A question, is batch #2 available for those who listed more than 1 lantern in the group buy list?
Let’s say, I listed 4 lanterns in the group-buy list.
Already got 1 lantern from batch 1.
Can I order another 1 lantern from batch 2 (limit 1 again?),
or perhaps order the remaining 3 lanterns from batch 2?
I would think Sofirn should go all the way through the list, allocating a single LT1 until everyone has been offered a buy-in. Then go through the list again and fill all the others. Just my idea… carries no weight with Sofirn. And FWIW I have expressed interest for a total of three; already have one and waiting to see how this shakes out. I would think there will be a few more production runs before the list is completed.
Sofirn will make sure every single person get code for one unit. Then go back to rescan the list and send new codes for those who want more than 1 lantern.
Not dismissing his work, but holy mother of god, all that for a cable? But it’s cool, go for it. It’s a fantastic lantern, waited almost 4 yrs for it. Already used for 4 days at deer hunting camp, and it works and charges flawlessly.
I responded with a request for code with batteries the second I got my original code. I didn’t receive a response and by the time I tried to use the original code it had expired. I think there are probably many of us in the same boat that haven’t been able to order off the initial batch.
I just checked PM’s today and got a message from Sofirn with a code. Responded and asked for a code for the LT1 and batteries. They responded in a couple hours and I got the light ordered.
It’s not about the cable. It’s about recognizing that ‘proper’ USB-C power bricks and cables are becoming more and more common and having to keep an older style cable and charger on hand will slowly become more and more annoying. Is the mod annoying? Definitely. Is it worth the effort for some of us? Defintely.
I’m glad to read the rest of your post though. Hearing unbiased reports of how well the lantern works just makes me want my order numbers to come up faster. :+1:
