This whole trit thing - I think it’s clear some like them, some don’t - I personally don’t mind (would like a few) unless there are too many to fill, making it cost more than the light itself.
In this case, since it’s in the tail cap which would cost next to nothing (the shell, not innards) maybe make and ‘empty’ tail cap with trit holes, and ship the light with a standard tail cap , or both for an extra charge ($5/8?) - maybe even pre-filled ($20?). People can then put their original innards into their new cap to keep costs down.
On a side note, maybe 3 would suit it better - the 4 holes make it look square, and it doesn’t look right to me, maybe 3 in a triangle?
Not a deal breaker for me though either way - I would prefer to buy it separately though.
On some light I like trit slots, on some I don’t. Not because of the need to fill them (I never feel such need and always consider trits to be optional) but because sometimes the empty holes make an OK-looking pattern and sometimes they are just odd and look out-of place.
Haikelite SC26 looks fine. I have a single trit near the switch and left the other slots empty.
In FW21 and FW421 they look out of place.
There you go, the 21700 quad for me is perfect! The trits in the tail aren’t to my absolute liking but I could live with them. Maybe fill them with UV resin and GITD powder?
I would LOVE it in blue too.
Put me down for one!
Why Haven’t they changed the tail switch? You look at it funny and it will turn on. Their is no way you can edc it without it turning it on making it completely useless.
Very interested in headlamp… if an 18350 tube is an option.
(18350 in a triple—what’s the point you ask? Answer: mainly for regular use as low output with rare turbo bursts. Low weight means less bouncing with these light type right. But then there’s the option to then upgrade to 18650s in reserve if sustained high-output is needed. My use case is backpacking in dark places)
