What did you mod today?

What KB said.

Nice bankers lantern  .

If you recall my 14500 fw3a from last week (a modded Nitecore D10 with custom fet+1 driver running anduril) I’ve now completed the mod with aux leds.

Add on aux board? We don’t need no stinkin aux board!

Installed and wired

Finished. Pic was taken hastily so it’s not directly head on, the main led is centered but because of how I had to do it both aux leds are offset to one side

This light is for sale. I’m also building one additional that’ll be for sale too.

I know it’s nothing fancy but I’m new to modding and I wanted to post my mod. I still have a lot to learn and this thread is a fun read. I know this is a pretty simple mod for a lot of posters here, but I feel a sense of accomplishment with this build. Removing the factory solder from the pill was probably the hardest part. Lol

+some customisation of the ano
Nice job, and much better than what I made when I started modding.

Nicely done. Don’t worry that you think the mod is nothing special. I drilled a hole in a bowl showed it off :person_facepalming: post #8302

Thank you guys!
Hey MtnDon, I like it. That’s a good idea. The thing’s boredom brings us too. : )

I’m waiting for the snow to melt…… but I think I’ll have to shovel first.

Made an S2+ (shown with 18500 tube) with a 6x7135 biscotti driver and an XP-E2 (on a Noctigon board soldered to the pill) that was supposed to be binned at 485nm according to RS-components.

It appears to peak at 472nm :weary: , which is the common blue wavelength and not that nice ice-blue 485nm, and the too fast biscotti driver acts a bit weird too, can’t switch the mode memory off.

So a bit disappointed after 1.5 hours work, but it was nice to do some soldering again, was a week ago already :person_facepalming:

Nice! Maybe one of these days I’ll build a blue or red light. I think it’s cool!

PM sent !

Mod my long time favorite light, C3 SS clone with Lumintop Tool AA V2.0 driver, Nichia 219C sm4070e 4000K emitter, and lighted switch from Convoy… have to use a 14500 battery so the switch led can turn on.

Tool AA V2.0 driver

Sanding driver to fit the pill (press fit)

using AWG24 cable

Gchart (a member here) has a boost converter lighted tail cap so you can have the lighted tail while retaining AA compatibility.

Thanks CK, that’s what I need.

 :+1:

FT03 3rd emitter swap SST-40 50.2 3v and now the 90.2…

Do you have some current, lux and lumen readings

Nice work guys! From the bankers lantern (who has money left to count around HERE?) to the nicely finished small lights for EDC. And Kawi, best swap yet… massive output AND throw, just gotta love it!

Y’all make me wanna DO somethin . . .

Well the Old Lumens contest is open, to modders and builders…
Fabulous prizes to be won.

This topic is dangerous. It’s really making me want to jump into modding lights like this. I wish I had the time to learn, but have other priorities right now. But the bug is in the back of my mind…
