*BLF LT1 Lantern Project) (updated Nov,17,2020)

Yeah, i got a GB Code.

I know using flat cells can make problems.
But i have 4 unused Murata VTC6 at home.
Has anybody tested the VTC6 in the LT1?
If they are not working, I would the LT1 with the 4 Sofirn cells.

Thanks

OK. Thanks for your advice and effort on this project :+1:

I want to express my appreciation for the BLF LT1 team and Sofirn, don’t know exactly where I can do this so here it is.

I’m #1700 something and I have received Amazon code for with the batteries. Order placed.

Thanks for your efforts @BLF LT1 and Sofirn, much appreciated!

Thank you so much for your advice  , I will attempt to contact Mr Admin.

The VTC6 will work if a solder blob is soldered on top of the plus-pole, but:
*The lantern does not need a high drain battery, lower drain batteries will work just as well
*VTC6 cells are much too nice for the lantern, use them in higher power flashlights. Use cheap ones in the lantern, like Samsung 29E’s, same capacity, much cheaper.

So there’s no way to get this off Aliexpress instead of Amazon?
The Aliexpress store has it listed for a lower price, and if you add the GB coupon + some Aliexpress coupon final price would be around $30…

Apologies for double posting about this, but just wanted to make sure I was thinking about this the right way (and definitely not trying to dive into the complaining territory!!!). Is it right that we are not sure if Batch 3/4 (either with the updated USB-C compatibility that is in the works or the potential updated colors) will be included in the GB price? For instance, if we are not in a rush to get the lantern, could we wait for those other options, or will the group buy price no longer apply at that point? Or is it just unclear? I think it would be somewhat helpful to have some color from Sofirn on this so that we as consumers could make the decision if the USB fix or a different color would be worth an extra $20 (wouldn’t be for me) or if it would be at the same price point. Thanks!

Same as my LT1 order on 11-11 they provide tracking no. that doesn’t work then today the status show “shipment cancelled” :rage:

Lots of folks on FB complaining of the same. Once a tracking # has been assigned it can’t be cancelled on Ali. Folks are likening it to a temporary funding until the remaining units could be completed.
My 11.11order has not been cancelled as yet, but tracking is so far untraceable since shipping last week…

@djozz
Thanks.
I know that the VTC6 are to “good” for the LT1. But I don’t need them at the moment.

I think i will buy the batterie bundle. I don’t want to solder a blob on the flat top cells.

Wtf happened with ebay? I have to buy via amazon? I don’t buy via amazon. Unbelievable, why does this keep changing all the time?

This is the best lantern I can buy imo. Can’t wait for it to arrive, thanks to everyone who was a part of this. Hopefully my friends and family will will buy this lantern too.

Woooooo we’ve made to the end of the list.

I got a code for LT1 but unfortunately I’m not financially able to order/pay this side of Christmas/ new year so is it possible to let my code go to someone else & sorfine remember that I haven’t ordered & used my code & issue me at a later date?

I would like to know the same. ^

I have my first one coming and that is all I need for now. I would prefer to wait until colors are ready and the USB c-c is available to order the rest of mine since I don’t need them any time soon.

If colors and c-c is coming, I prefer those.

I don’t mind being put farther down the list to get the later versions of the LT1. It would allow someone else to get theirs sooner and everyone would be happy.

Why wasn’t this implemented?!?

Interested!

I too would like to know if the colored varients will be included in the group buy. Would Sofirn be able to comment on this? I’m signed up for two of them and would prefer to wait for a colored version (fingers crossed - orange!) to purchase my second.

Thank you too Sofirn for bringing this project to life and making it a reality! :+1: Sofirn is doing an amazing job on building the BLF LT1, added with the thanks to all the amazing LT1 team, and a thanks to all the great support from BLF and the members. It has been a honor & privilege to work on, test, develop, and help design a great area lantern for a lacking market.

We are hoping that will be. :+1:
