Yep. Half tempted to get one of these, just to see as to what I could do to mod the power pack to 4S1P, instead of 1S4P and use a FET driver on the XHP70.2-12V
The confusing name had me expecting it to be a BLF Q8 style light, but that took AA batteries. Pity, I think that would be a good idea for those that might want to gift a powerful soda-can light, but without the dangerous of lithium-ion. I know you’d need a lot of AA batteries to make the output impressive, but I think it would be do-able. 16xAA should be enough to give you a light similar in output and runtime to the BLF Q8,
Well, it is legal here, but no. Yeah, it would make for a big light, but about the same as the old 4D incan maglites of the past. And 5000 lumens from AA batteries… cool!
Not everyone is comfortable with lithium-ion batteries and charging. And, I’m certainly not comfortable giving lithium-ion lights like a BLF Q8 to newbies.
