Has anybody experienced any wear or durability issues related to twisty switches on modern lights? Specifically, I’m thinking of lights like the E01, L08 or C01/C01S where there is basically a driver board with a tracing which gets twisted down onto the battery housing to close the circuit.
Would it be worth while to add some solder to the pcb tracing or would the solder be too soft and just create its own wear issues?
A dab of conductive lubricant (Nyogel is one), also called “bulb grease” — prevents a lot of wear problems in my experience.

Most of the ones I’ve seen have what looks like a toothed “lockwasher” at the base with an O-ring to keep the negative end of the cell off the lockwasher, and tightening it squishes the O-ring so that it then makes contact. Or something similar (minus the lockwasher) to make contact at the positive end instead.
Oh yes. The lights I have listed definitely appear to function that way. The L10 (L3 brand, same maker of the L08) functions like you describe, though.
