The making of the BLF UC4 charger: the start of a new venture, INTEREST LIST, UPDATE 7 (Well, ramping stopped :/ )

I would be interested in 1, depending on the final design

I am interesting in 1.

Below are ONLY NEW additions since last week’s update and the BLF INTEREST LIST file linked to in post #1 have been updated too.

I passed all entries that are just repeating interest in the charger already expressed in previous posts.
If anyone is not on the list please notify.

The interest list count now stands at 479 chargers.

Please could you make my life a little easier and (before you post your interest) can you check the BLF INTEREST LIST file (also linked to in post #1) if you are on the list already? Thank you!

Are you building a working prototype? Or do you mean schematics to shop around to manufacturers?

Schematics and a model of course.

A prototype would be good though, although I still need to learn some more C to actually build the software, and a 3D printer to actually make a physical model.

A 3D model is necessary to actually convince an OEM to build it.

Would you be able to use your schools 3D printer if they have one

That is actually a great idea…

Anyway, can’t do any of that for now, as finals will be next week.

Good Luck on your Finals !!!

What is your Major, I think you said EE.

Also interested, put me on the list.

If that doesn’t work out, see if there’s a local hacklab/hackerspace/makerspace near you. Most have 3D printers.

Wow, I don’t know how I missed this, definitely in!

Very cool idea. Interested in one.

I’m interested in two.

Please put me in for one.

BlueSwordM, if you’re doing the design prototyping yourself it would be pretty handy to have a 3D printer available, something like an ender 3 is 150$ and excellent, if you set up a funding thing i’ll happilly pitch in to help get you one, this is quite the work you are putting into this.

I think more than a few people would come up with some money to help you out on this charger.

Thanks JamesB for pointing this out.

Interested, add me for one.

Interested

@JamesB, merci beaucoup.

Thanks a lot.

I’ll have to make a working model though. That includes the body itself, the material type, the display inserted in the model, sample electronics, DC input+USB out, etc.

It’ll be a tough job, but doable.

Also, this may be a bit far fetched, but I could make perhaps make a prototype that can only charge lithium-ion, with all the functions built-in.

That last one would take a LOT of time though, and can’t guarantee it.

I can help with 3d printing, if you’d like.
