Astrolux C8 led alignment

Hi, my Astrolux C8 beam looks like the led is not centered properly. Looking at the reflector and led its hard to see any alignment problem. I was wondering if anyone has managed to take the head apart for modding etc? and has anyone else had this problem?

Hi mikelight,

I can’t say that I’ve had this issue but what I can say is if you want to disassemble the head be gentle and unscrew the bezel slowly. As the last time I unscrewed one of my Convoy C8 the whole lens/reflector assembly twisted with the bezel and twisted the LED emitter clean off its PCB!

I may have had a bad one where the solder was weak but just make sure that the o-ring/lens/reflector are not ceased together while unscrewing the bezel :+1:

I’ve unscrewed all the parts on my Astrolux C8 and two Convoy C8’s. No problems with things being stuck together. I guess be careful, but things should come apart okay if it’s normal.

Thanks WalkIntoTheLight. I have managed to slowly unscrew it. It was very tight.
