[♛ FreemeGB-NOV] Haikelite HT70 4*SST70 6500k 17000 lumens 18650 Flashlight - ALIVE!

Agreed. But we “can not” expect them to do that[Lower price] just as they “can” expect some Not to buy it because of its totally exaggerated throw/Cd numbers.

As we know they advertise 1500M/563Kcd throw when it is only ~ 250Kcd/1000M throw. That is a farce! I would have accepted 12K Lumens, which it appears to be and 350Kcd/1183m. I can not seem to accept such a drastic difference in what they advertise and what we are getting.

Also, when others get this light, I do not expect the numbers to be that different than the ones that have been tested by members.

I knew by the intensity, or lack thereof, of the beam shots on those buildings that it would be hard pressed to hit 350Kcd. The beams on those buildings of Mateminco MT35 and the NI40 SBT90 are just as intense as the HT70. Those lights are ~ 220Kcd to 250Kcd.That was my first clue and the numbers of tested lights so far verify that.

yea i agree its a bit optimistic rated the throw and lumens numbers… but its as always take such number with a big box of salt…

Basically it performs comparable to the MT09R, but with a bit more throw due to different emitters. I have no interest in this light as I don’t want to spend extra on 8 dedicated cells and an 8 bay charger specifically for this.

8 bay charger, huh. That’s necessary?

It should run fine on 4 cells, if that helps you any.

I know.

I asume that much lumens its kinda bad to just run it on 4 cells dont u think ? better runtimes run with 8 imo.

The batteries and/or chargers are not the issue for me. It is the light.

What about 2 x 4 bay chargers?! I have 5 X 4 bay chargers. I know not everyone does, but I would think most people have more than 1 X 4 bay charger?

Well that all depends on who the manufacturer and/or builder is. Most are a little off, but I have not experienced such Over inflated numbers like this light since my T-Mart days in the beginning of my hobby 8 years ago!

They rated it 5000 Lumens too high and 500 meters Less throw than it actually has. :person_facepalming:

I do have several. My Xtar VP4 is my main charger. I also have the Zanflare C4 and Lii 402. But these two often have slightly different terminating voltages. I know in real life it shouldn’t be a problem; it’s primarily an OCD thing. To me an 8 cell light needs an 8 cell charger.
This light would have been more interesting to me with 6 or 8 emitters and a slightly larger head for more heat dissipation. But then you probably need a different driver to prevent the risk of the FET going poof.

MT09R only uses 4 cells and that can do over 16,000 lumen (certain ones). So 4 cells should not hurt it.

That is Haikelite for you. It’s not the first time they got specs way off. Sometimes I wonder if they just rate things by “theory” with no actual testing. IDK.

Yes,this is my First experience with Haiklite. Now I know what to expect. Unlikely I would buy one of their lights until one of you guys test them and the numbers are at least 75% to 80% of what they advertise!

It’s been awhile since the MT09R group buy and I do remember reading that they don’t have actual test equipment so all their numbers are based on calculations/estimates. :person_facepalming: I think all small flashlight makers should just buy a Texas Ace lumen tube for output and cheap lux meter for throw. Not that expensive. Maybe Freeme can recommend that to them so they don’t make themselves look bad every single time they release a new light.

They just probably make a wild estimate on the lumens and throw numbers, i wish they didnt just guess numbers out of the blue, i remember from the mt09r gropbuy we were promised lumens etc it didnt turn out quite what was said first… so same here its not really a big deal really they just make it sound the light is better then what is makes in reality… still a good deal imo dont see any other lights like this atm ?

Thanks for the info.

That surprises me. They have to make enough money to buy that equipment. Maybe just laziness!

I remember johnnymac had to tell David from Thrunite how to measure properly. At least they had equipment!

MATEMINCO owns a 1m integrated sphere if i am not wrong. HaikeLite measurements were reasonably accurate back in 2017?

Everyone wants to look good on paper as it has direct relation/impact with their sales. You can't really avoid, as it happens in almost all industries.

True but reputation is important too. Olight sells the most flashlights and all of their lights measure higher than Olight’s specs in my calibrated lumen tube. My lumen tube usually measures lower than others on this forum. So even a company that under rates their products can sell really well due to their reputation and reliability.

On Banggoods website there is a section for questions. One question was can it take FLAT TOPS? The answer was YES.

Q:Can it take flat top batteries?
A:
yes

Can you confirm or refute this?

Thanks

This is why I asked the question in post #82 about GA BT OR FT??

I would like casi29061965 to answer the question OR someone who actually has the light.

Thanks

Two batteries are always in series and there is no battery holder, so if I’m correct that would mean it depends on whether the positive terminal of a battery will make contact with its negative end.

True. But there is also a possibility that the length of two flat top GA cells in series is on the short side or too short to make proper contact.
