Negative experience with NealsGadgets

What is happening with my last order in NealsGadgets: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/58807/375

I wonder how much it would take for BLF and Reddit to stop recommending shopping from Neal? The guy is pretty much scamming people at this point, and I don’t care if it’s on purpose or not. nealsgadgets.com should be flagged as non-trustworthy seller so people know what they’re getting into.

What I find most surprising is seemingly total radio silence on Neal’s end, no damage control, no attempts to communicate etc.

Good point. Personally after reading many, many posts and my own experience, think that limit has been reached.

On the other hand money and loyalty, regardless of peoples consequences/complaints can be more influential in their[BLF/Reddit] thought process and decision making.

Certain brands and sellers are “protected” on here

Yes it seems so. You gave the short version.

Similar to the Mafia until certain lines are crossed!

Wrong. You have plastered your comments about certain sellers all over BLF, and those comments have been allowed to remain. What I do is protect the peace and the friendly environment around here. People who blatantly disregard this all-important aspect of BLF are not allowed to remain. Please drop the subject. Consider this your last warning.

I was mentioning about this particular thread, nothing about sofirn

If you want to ban me for posting up about personal experiences for vendors and brands the thats the road BLF will go down

Yet you ignore the personal attacks

Bye

Thank you SB.

Peace.

After reading this thread I’m no longer surprised by my experience. Nonetheless I feel I must share it. And yes I created an account just for this purpose.

I recently won a Paypal dispute with Nealsgadgets. I placed an order on Nov 2. Two weeks passed and I heard nothing. I sent an email to the website’s email address and received no reply. Another week passed. I sent an email to the registered PayPal address and received no reply. After four weeks I opened a PayPal dispute. After nearly two months I received a refund from PayPal. Neal never replied to me nor PayPal.

I found this thread because I was curious if perhaps something tragic happened to the stores owner causing this complete ghosting. Now I see this appears par for the course.

I too had to seek a refund for 2 of 4 30Q batteries ordered, but only 2 were sent, and he refused to communicate with me about getting my 2 missing batteries.
So, because NG would not respond to my communications, after 4 weeks, I disputed the charge with my credit card company.
My CC gave me an immediate refund, for 1/2 the order I paid for, but did not receive. Because I know what a PITA PayPal can be, to get a refund from them.

BLF sends plenty of business to Neals, but he seems unwilling to communicate with his customers properly.

It’s too bad, NG could really be successful, if he would only communicate with his customers.

Have I mention how dodgy it is that this thread was the first and only post ever made by this member?

[sniff] You smell that? Pretty sure that’s the stench of slander.

He created a lively thread with his post. Negative experiences with sellers are tempting to post about, and always attracts readers as well.

Sellers must be saints to not have some unhappy customers, and those find their ways to these threads.

And we know that, along with most chinese sellers, Neal is not a saint. He can send your order out very fast and provide great customer service, and also he can be very sloppy, and at times sells stuff he has not in stock so lets the customer wait for a month without communication.

What we do not know from this thread is how many unhappy Neal-customers there are, the impression when reading such a thread is that half his customers have problems, but it could be just 3% as well.

That is why I’m not really happy with these “exposure” threads of which this is the worst one, with an invitation for posting bad experiences in the title. Whatever the real seller performance, averaging all his customer experiences, for this type of thread there is no other possible outcome that the seller is a jerk.

Hecklers shall not be missed.

I don’t think this is slander. It’s people expressing their dissatisfaction. And yes, you’re going to get more people on the Internet complaining about something than posting they’re satisfied. Few satisfied people feel the need to post about it.

I’ve had decent luck with NG, but I haven’t ever had an order messed up or not shipped, so I can’t comment on his after-sales service. It’s probably not great, like most Chinese sellers. They’re competing on price, not service.

Paypal is your friend, if you run into trouble. Well, it’s not a very good friend, but it’s probably the only friend you have.

Very true. Neal is not perfect or even the best seller ever, but this kind of thread makes vocal minorities stand out way too much for everyone’s good. I trust hard cold mathematical statistics far more than subjective feedback loops. Don’t get me wrong, constructive criticism is appreciated, but it’s not the majority of the content in this thread.

But my point was that this was started by what is very very likely (not definitely, as I can’t be sure, only our main man sb can through IP tracking) a sockpuppet. And that’s plain dirty. Seen it a million times in other forums and it never ends well; in ones more strict than BLF, it often leads to IP bans outright.

Although the OP has only one post, there are plenty or credible complaints in this thread.

I would prefer a thread that is about ALL experiences with Neal's Gadgets, not just negative (or positive), but I don't control everything so that's not going to happen.

If you want really fast super reliable service with instant communications then pay 3 times more from a local re seller. end of the day you get what you pay for and we all paid the cheap price

Neal replied to my email pretty much straight away… He did however sell me a flashlight he doesn’t have stock of for 2 weeks… but you know i am paying less than half what i would from a seller here so im not to bothered if it takes a little longer.

Not dodgy at all when we have lots of negative input from other members including myself who after emailing, private messaging and facebook messenger I’m still to get a reply from Neal concerning a defective light.

Not a bad idea. I could probably close this thread and the other Positive Experiences thread (both still visible, just closed for new comments), and then create a new vendor rating page for NealsGadgets with a Pros/Cons summary in the first post, with links to both of the former complaint and accolade threads.
